    摘要: A method is proposed for self-monitoring of microcomputer-controlled network devices (10) in motor vehicles which in accordance with applied transducer signals execute specified functions and upon detecting an error store a corresponding data word in memory. For indicating the error, the data word is converted into a signal train or voltage and detected by means of voltage measurement. This is preferably accomplished by inserting a diagnosis insert-plug (42) between the transducer lines and the network device (10). A voltmeter (47) can be connected to this test adapter and indicates this signal train or voltage. A specific type of error is associated with a specific voltage. As a result, a diagnosis which is as detailed as desired, of a complicated system, can be performed with a simple voltmeter (47) available in commerce.

    摘要: A sensor for the variable underpressure in the intake manifold of an engine produces a digital output signal which is sampled at intervals of one half of the period of pressure variation or an odd multiple of such half period, as timed in synchronism with the crankshaft revolution in a phase relation designed to intercept maximum and minimum values of pressure. The two most recent samples are stored in a shift register and their difference is formed by digital subtraction, compensated for changes of sign in successive difference operations to provide an absolute difference value output. The latter is then provided to a threshold stage which provides an output signal if the difference value does not reach a predetermined threshold. The signal of the threshold stage is integrated before it is used to produce an alarm indication or a corrective control function. When such an indication is produced, the value of pressure measured by the sensor is referred to in order to determine whether the malfunction relates to the communication of the vacuum to the sensor or to a defect in the sensor itself.

    摘要: In occupant protection systems having a large number of sensors and control modules for triggering occupant protection devices, the amount of wiring is significantly increased if they are to be communicatively connected to a central unit. For this reason, bus systems have already been suggested for the control modules for triggering occupant protection devices. In order to further reduce in the wiring, sensors are at least partially integrated into a bus system with additional control modules that are allocated to these sensors. Within the context of a diagnosis process of interrogation and response, which triggers a function test of the control modules for triggering the occupant protection devices, an actual sensor value is sent to the bus system from the control modules of the sensors as a diagnosis response. This response is processed by the central unit and/or the other control modules.

The slave stations have a connecting switch, with the downstream slave stations having no electric contact with the master station when the connecting switch of a first slave station is opened. In this phase, the first slave station is initialized. Before closing the connecting switch, a test switch is closed, with the current flow being limited by a current limiter. It is thus possible to check on whether the downstream slave station has a short circuit.

    摘要: A safety device for vehicle occupants has an operational voltage source, typically the vehicle's battery, and a storage device for electrical energy, typically a capacitor. Several tripping devices, typically ignition tablets, are coupled to the storage device and/or the operational voltage source, for actuating inertial restraining devices, such as airbags, belt tighteners or the like. If the storage device fails, each tripping device is connected for a specified period of time to the operational voltage source by a respective switch. Each switch is triggered by an evaluating device. Therefore, if the storage device fails, as long as the operational voltage source is connected to the safety device, each tripping device and, therefore, inertial restraining device can be actuated.
