摘要: There is provided a method for identifying a sit-to-stand transfer in measurements of the movement of a user, the method comprising obtaining measurements of the vertical acceleration experienced by the user during movement; obtaining measurements indicating changes in height of a part of the user during movement; processing the measurements of the vertical acceleration to identify candidate movements corresponding to a sit-to-stand transfer by the user; and determining an identified candidate movement as a sit-to-stand transfer where the identified candidate movement coincides with an increase in height. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.

摘要: The invention relates to a fall detection system, for detecting human fall incidents. The detection system comprises a sensor module to be worn by a user, for collecting motion data of his body, for instance acceleration data; first evaluation logic for identifying a potential fall incident on the basis of an impact observed in the acceleration data; and second evaluation logic for verifying that the sensor module is actually worn by the user, at least around the time of said impact, to prevent the system from raising an alarm if only the sensor module has fallen. The second evaluation logic may comprise free fall detection means for evaluating the acceleration data on characteristics which are typical for a free falling object, such as one or more full rotation and/or a free falling phase, during which the magnitude of the acceleration data is relatively stable and small. Additionally or alternatively the second evaluation logic may comprise body proximity detection means for detecting whether the sensor module is in close proximity to the human body.

摘要: There is provided a method for estimating the orientation of an accelerometer relative to a fixed reference frame, the method comprising obtaining signals from the accelerometer, the signals indicating the components of the acceleration acting on the accelerometer along three orthogonal axes; identifying the axis with the highest component of acceleration; and determining the orientation of the accelerometer by determining the angle between the acceleration acting on the accelerometer and the axis with the highest component of acceleration. There is further provided a method for estimating the vertical acceleration in the fixed reference frame using the estimated orientation.

摘要: A system for wireless communication in a network includes: a resource-restricted device transmitting a data frame to be forwarded to a destination device in the network, wherein the data frame includes a source identifier of the resource-restricted device, wherein the source identifier is not a valid network address for the network; a proxy device receiving the data frame from the resource-restricted device, deriving a network address for the resource-restricted device as a function of the source identifier of the resource-restricted device, and constructing, from the data frame, a packet to be forwarded to at least the destination device. Constructing the packet involves: including, in the packet, data from the data frame, and including, in the packet, the derived network address for the resource-restricted device as a source address for the packet. The proxy device associates a delay to the packet, and schedules transmission of the packet after the delay.
