    摘要: A control device for Diesel engines with which a rapid shutoff of the latter is possible by emptying the suction chamber of the injection pump by aspiration. The control device includes a control valve, which in the operating position (I) opens up the feed line of the feed pump toward the suction chamber and in the reversed shutoff position (II) blocks this feed line between the compression side (D) of the feed pump and the suction chamber. The control valve is an electromagnetic shutoff valve. A further part of the control device is an electric fuel pump, which as a special aspirating pump is disposed in an aspiration line leading from the suction chamber back to the fuel tank. For emergency engine shutoff, the control valve, displaced into its blocking position (II), blocks the flow of fuel between the feed pump and the suction chamber, while the aspirating fuel pump that has been turned on at the same time empties the suction chamber by aspiration. The emergency shutoff takes place rapidly, thereby reliably preventing engine damage and accidents.

    摘要: A thread wiper assembly mountable to the side of a sewing machine. The thread wiper assembly is particularly advantageous with sewing machines that are equipped with a walking foot. The thread wiper is mounted sidewardly relative to the needle and includes a picker arm, that while in a retracted position, is disposed sidewardly relative to the needle and out of its path of travel. Because the thread wiper is mounted to the side of the sewing machine and sidewardly relative to the needle, the picker arm is able to traverse along a path between the needle and the walking foot without interference. An actuating member: (i) lowers the picker arm in a direction substantially parallel to the needle until a free end of the picker arm is at a level between the needle and the walking foot; (ii) sidewardly thrusts the picker arm at a first angle, relative to a vertical axis, towards the needle along a path between the needle and the walking foot without interference; (iii) advances further sideways the picker arm at a second angle, relative to the vertical axis, greater than the first angle; and (iv) retracts away while raising the picker member in a reverse movement to complete the cycle. The thread wiper may include a microprocessor that is programmed to intelligently disable/enable the thread wiper depending on such factors as the adjustment in rise of the walking foot and/or whether the turn back operation of the sewing machine is activated. The thread wiper assembly is also suitable for use with a sewing machine that does not have a walking foot.

    摘要: A control device for Diesel engines is proposed in which a rapid shutoff of the engine can be effected by evacuating the suction chamber of the injection pump. The control device includes a supply pump and a reversal valve, which in a stop position connects the suction chamber with the intake side of the supply pump and connects the compression side of the supply pump with the fuel tank. A check valve is provided in the supply line between the supply pump and the fuel filter which, when closed, is vacuum-tight; this check valve is disposed to open toward the filter, counter to the force of a valve closing spring. Another check valve, comprising an overflow valve determining the suction chamber pressure, is provided in an overflow line leading from the suction chamber to the fuel tank; this overflow valve is also vacuum-tight when closed. When the reversal valve is actuated by an electromagnet, a similar key-actuated shutoff to that known in gasoline engines can also be effected in Diesel engines. The circuitry of this embodiment also enables an involuntary "rolling start" to be blocked, and allows for a fail-safe shutoff of the engine in case of a malfunction in the governor shutoff device.

    摘要: A fuel system is disclosed in which high-pressure fuel pump with a prefeed pump is proposed, in which the fuel quantity pumped by the prefeed pump is distributed for cooling and lubrication purposes, via a continuously adjustable multiposition valve, to the pump elements of the high-pressure fuel pump or to the low-pressure region of the high-pressure fuel pump. The multiposition valve is controlled by the control unit of the engine. An advantageous feature of the high-pressure fuel pump of the invention is that depending on the operating state of the engine and of the high-pressure fuel pump, an optimal distribution of the fuel quantity pumped by the prefeed pump can always be accomplished. Moreover, the energy demand by the prefeed pump is reduced and its service life is lengthened.
