This invention provides a process for producing a carbon nanotube electric field effect transistor that can improve yield in channel preparation. Carbon nanotubes dispersed in a mixed acid composed of sulfuric acid and nitric acid are subjected to radical treatment with aqueous hydrogen peroxide to cut the carbon nanotubes and thus to provide carboxyl-introduced carbon nanotube fragments. The carbon nanotube fragments are attached, through a covalent bond and/or an electrostatic bond, to a site, where a source electrode is to be formed, and a site where a drain electrode is to be formed, in a substrate with a functional group, to be attached to a carboxyl group, introduced thereinto. The carbon nanotube fragments attached to the substrate are attached to carbon nanotubes as channels through n-n interaction to fix the carbon nanotubes as channels to the substrate.

The CSD 47 uses a piston 46 for opening and closing a sub port 42 formed in a plunger barrel 8. An electronic governor 2 is provided with a mechanism for decreasing an injected fuel quantity when an engine starts in a cold temperature condition. The mechanism shifts a rack position in a fuel-decrease direction in a cold temperature condition, and switches the rack position to a normal position in a normal temperature condition. A timing TR for shifting the rack position is set before or simultaneous to a timing TC for switch-off of the CSD 47.

In order to control an apparatus, such as a rolling mill, a control device may use a pre-set operation pattern to generate a preset command signal, which is then modified. That first modification may be part of a feedback loop in dependence on the variation of a variable operation device of the apparatus, on a plurality of pre-set signals may be combined by fuzzy logic. Then the relationship between the modified pre-set command signal and the variation of the variable operation device is investigated to generate a compensation signal which is used to modify further the pre-set command signal. In a feedback loop, that further modification may compensate for changes in the operating point of the loop, due to changes in the apparatus being controlled. In a fuzzy logic arrangement, the compensation signal may be a further control pattern developed by the control device itself, which is combined with the pre-set patterns by fuzzy logic. The control device may be in the form of a series of modules.
