    摘要: A frame rate conversion, for instance between NTSC and PAL, or SECAM, has been improved by interpolation system in which an interpolation is performed from picture elements of two consecutive frames of an original picture signal whose positions are shifted from the position of a picture element to be interpolated by amounts related to the move length of a picture block between the two consecutive frames period, instead of using picture elements of two consecutive frames of the original signal that have the same position coordinates as those of the picture element to be interpolated. Picture quality of the converted signal is improved in particular when a picture moves.

    摘要: A movement of a small picture block in a frame of video signals is provided by recursively applying a gradient method to a picture block in a present frame and a preceding frame to provide a series of sub-movements until said sub-movement decreases less than a predetermined value, and the resultant movement is obtained by the sum of the sub-movements. The present invention provides high accuracy in estimation of movement of a block in a picture as compared with a conventional gradient method, and is attractive in hardware implementation.

    摘要: A multi-path equalization system for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing communication (OFDM) system includes a first estimator for estimating the channel characteristic using pilot signal. A divider is coupled to the estimator for dividing each sub-carrier with the channel characteristic to get the equalization to the data signal. A de-mapper uses the phase and amplitude correction of the channel estimate to recover the data signals. An improved channel estimation is provided by a repeat channel estimation feedback loop that includes the de-mapper a multiplier, an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT), a low pass filter and a fast Fourier transform (FFT). The improved channel estimation is obtained by multiplying at the multiplier the conjugate of the de-mapped data to the input sub-carriers and applying inverse FFT, low pass filtering and FFT to get the new channel estimate. Each sub-carrier is divided with new channel characteristic to get new equalization to the data signal. The channel estimation is repeated until there is convergence. The output is provided after the de-mapper. In the case of channel decoding to improve performance a Viterbi decoder and convolutional encoder is coupled in loop between the de-mapper and the multiplier.

    摘要: A method in a computer system executing a client application and an OODBMS and an RDBMS software, which system has a storage medium accessible by the RDBMS software and the OODBMS software being accessible by the client application. The method generates unique object identifiers in a data abstraction layer disposed between the OODBMS and the RDBMS software in response to a parent thread created by the client application. The method includes the steps of creating a child thread that has access to the RDBMS software, which child thread is used exclusively for generating object identifier numbers and for returning the same to the parent thread. A unique object identifier table is created, which is maintained by the child thread. In response to a request by the parent thread for a unique object identifier, the child thread generates a finite number of the unique object identifiers and communicates their values to the parent thread. After this, a recording is made in the table of the fact that a finite number of unique object identifiers have been generated.

A microcomputer carries out the above functions.

    摘要: One or more, normally three, cathode ray tube displays are juxtaposed for simultaneous reproduction of correlated pictorial and literal images, either in continuous motion or in still, from two or more video disk players in which prerecorded video disks are to be loaded replaceably. A programmable system controller controls the operations of the disk players in accordance with a predefined program. As one of the disk players sequentially retrieves the prerecorded pictures from the associated video disk, an address detector circuit detects the successive disk tracks from which the pictures are being retrieved. Constantly informed of the current track address on that disk, the system controller causes the other disk player or players to retrieve desired pictures from preselected tracks on the other video disk or disks loaded therein.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for assembling an information signal on a rotary recording medium comprising a pre-recorded track recorded with pre-recorded information signals and an unrecorded track not recorded with information signals by use of a light beam in which an information signal to be newly recorded on the rotary recording medium is recorded continuously from the pre-recorded information signal already recorded on the pre-recorded track. The apparatus by use of a light beam searches for a pre-recorded track turn which is a portion of the pre-recorded track immediately preceding the unrecorded track and continuously reproduces the information signal from the searched pre-recorded track turn as it waits for a command signal commanding the recording of the information signal to be recorded. Responsive to the command signal, the apparatus terminates the repetition of the reproducing operation of the searched track turn and commences the recording on the unrecorded track turn following the searched pre-recorded track turn.

Each track turn of the guide track is constituted by a row of pits formed in every other equiangular sectoral regions, and the pit is only formed in one of two mutually adjacent track turns of the guide track in each equiangular sectoral region so that the pits are formed in every other track turns in a radial direction of the disc in each equiangular sectoral region. An apparatus for playing the disc comprises a circuit for producing a switching pulse signal having a period dependent on a period of the pits of the guide track based on signals which are reproduced from the two mutually adjacent track turns by sub light beams, a circuit for alternately inverting a polarity of signals which are reproduced from the two mutually adjacent track turns by a main light beam for every one half period of the switching pulse signal and for generating a tracking error signal, a tracking device, and a device for recording and reproducing an information signal on and from an intermediate part of the disc between the two mutually adjacent track turns.
