    摘要: An image processing apparatus has an adjusting mode which enables determination of a magnification correction value. A predetermined image on a test chart placed on an original table or an image of a chart fixed outside the valid image area are read, and the proper correction value for compensating for any variation in the image magnitude within a scanning system is computed based on the results of reading the test chart image. Subsequently, a printing system is operated to print test chart data read from a memory and the image printed in accordance with the test chart data is read by the scanner system which has been corrected, the result of the reading being used in computing the magnification correction value for compensating for any magnification variation occurring in the printer system.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for recognizing character information in an original document with high recognition accuracy regardless of the size of a character to be recognized. An input image is processed by an image processing circuit and stored in an image recording unit. A character region in the recorded image data is detected by a recognition section, and the image corresponding to the detected character region is read with a predetermined magnification. Character recognition is performed on the image of the character region read at the predetermined magnification, in the recognition section. If the recognition accuracy does not satisfy a predetermined criterion, the same image is read again with a modified magnification wherein the magnification is determined on the basis of preset sizes and the size of the character pattern of a character to be recognized. The image obtained in this way is subjected again to character recognition processing until the recognition accuracy satisfies the predetermined criterion. A character pattern corresponding to the recognized character is generated, and recorded together with the image recorded in the image recording unit in an image recording section. Thus, an image is read with a magnification optimized depending on a character size of an original document image and on a recognition accuracy.

A control unit changes the number of pulses of initialization of the stepping motor according to whether the sheet to be fed is a sheet after excitation current for the stepping motor is switched on from off and whether the lifting mechanism operates after feeding a previous sheet.

    摘要: A remote control transmitter for operating an electronic appliance with an infrared ray, which is easy-to-operate and inexpensive. The remote control transmitter does not change the illumination of an illuminating device even when an operation key is manipulated. The remote control transmitter has a voltage control circuit including a diode having substantially the same power consumption as an infrared ray output means, and a control transistor connected parallel to the diode for turning on and off according to the electric signal from a microcomputer. Since a current flowing in the diode is controlled by the control transistor, a constant voltage is always applied to the driving circuit for lighting up the illuminating device regardless of an manipulation of the operation key.
