摘要: A concrete circuit configuration is proposed of a multiplex transmitter for loading a standard ATM cell with multiplexed micro-frames which are each shorter than the standard ATM cell. The input micro-frames are delivered to a distributor 504 in the input order through an interface 503. The distributor 504 distributes the input micro-frames using distributing information input. The distributing information accords with the service condition of each connection or micro-frame. An extracting circuit 506 selects buffers in accordance with predetermined buffer selection logic. A cell cancellation monitor circuit 508 relinquishes micro-frames exceeding cell tolerable time periods T2-1-T2-m. A multiplexing processor 507 transfers the cell or a idle cell to a sender 511 in accordance with the cell transfer timing of the sender 511.

摘要: An address structure in mobile communications network facilitating routing of a packet. At the initial position of the address, is located a prefix or the like indicating the type of the address structure, which indicates the present mobile communications network system, for example. At the next position, a location address (LA) is located characterizing the present invention. The location address is usually placed at the position of a subnetwork address. The location address (LA) is provided for each mobile switching system, and constitutes part of an IP address of a user using a mobile station under the control of the mobile switching system. At the final position, is located a user identifier (user ID) which is used for identifying a user, and is provided uniquely for each user. The IP address in accordance with the present invention can be split into the foregoing three sections, part of which includes the location address and user identifier indicating the location of the mobile station in the mobile communications network, thereby enabling the identification of the user in the mobile communications network system and the control of the packet transmission.

摘要: A handover control is executed when a location area of the mobile station is changed. The communication channel applied is the optimum route suited for the roaming destination of the mobile station. A service controller 6 is provided in the mobile communication network, switching node information transmitters 7 are provided in switching nodes 151, 131 and 132 so as to transmit, to the service controller 6, switching node informations representing the nodes themselves. Furthermore, in the service controller 6, a memory 8 for storing the switching node informations, and a handover execution unit 9 for executing handover control are provided. When a fixed terminal 5 in an external network and the mobile station 1 are in communication, and the location area of the mobile station 1 is to changed due to roaming, the handover execution unit 9 specifies, on the basis of contents of the switching node information memory 8, the gateway conducting & switching node 151 to be the node utilized for the communication channel. Then, the unit 9 issues an instruction to assign a channel from the gateway conducting & switching node 151 to the subscriber switching node 132 in the location area which is the roaming destination.

摘要: Control of a packet communications network in a fixed network used by a mobile communications network is performed. (1) A communication hold mode is set for a user when the traffic volume of the user's transmission or reception of a packet per fixed time period is less than a predetermined value. The communication hold mode is defined as “although the network resources are released once, a mobile station and a gateway center at an interface with an external network behave to the user side and the external side as though the communication hold mode were maintained”. (2) When the user in the communication hold mode restarts the transmission of a packet, the mobile station automatically carries out a recall processing without the intervention of the user, and re-establishes the communication up to the gateway carrier. (3) When the gateway center restarts receiving a packet to the user in the communication hold mode, the gateway center carries out the incoming recall processing without the intervention of the external network, and re-establishes the communication all the way to the mobile station. (4) To accomplish the incoming recall processing, the mobile station makes a location registration when it roams across location registration areas after a transition into the communication hold mode.

摘要: A short cell management unit capable of carrying out OAM (operation, administration and maintenance) functions on short cell connection basis (newly defined F7 flow) included in VC (virtual connection) in addition to OAM functions on VC basis (F5 flow) which are defined in a conventional B-ISDN. The F7 flow includes the entire OAM functions such as fault management, performance management, which are included in F4 and F5 flows that carry out the management by causing a standard OAM cell defined in the existing B-ISDN to flow. To implement this, a variable length OAM cell is newly provided as one of the short cells, and a base station and a switching office are newly provided with a short OAM cell/standard OAM cell translator for carrying out mapping between the short OAM cell and the standard OAM cell. Furthermore, a generally used standard OAM processor is used for implementing the management functions (F4 and F5 flow) defined in the standard B-ISDN.
