摘要: An electroluminescence element includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a light emission layer arranged between the first electrode and the second electrode. The first electrode is formed of a material having a higher volume resistivity than that of the material of the second electrode. A connector portion electrically connects a feeder portion to the first electrode. The resistance value of the connector portion differs in correspondence with a position at which the connector portion connects the feeder portion to the first electrode. The brightness distribution of the electroluminescence element is thus adjusted to a desired state.

摘要: A method of manufacturing an organic device includes the following steps. The first step is a step of forming a plurality of organic elements in the form of a matrix on a brittle substrate. Each of the organic elements is provided with an electrically connecting portion which electrically connects the organic element to an external circuit. The second step is a step of forming a sealing film on each organic element by a wet process with at least a part of the connecting portion covered with an adhesive masking material. The third step is a step of removing an adhesive deposit after peeling off the adhesive masking material. The fourth step is a step of forming a plurality of scribe lines on the brittle substrate. The fifth step is a step of breaking the brittle substrate along the scribe lines.

摘要: An electroluminescent device has a substantially rectangular electroluminescent layer in plan view, and first and second electrodes. The first electrode connected to one surface of the electroluminescent layer includes a first contact area in contact with one surface of the electroluminescent layer and a first terminal connected to the first contact area and to an external first conductor. The second electrode connected to the other surface of the electroluminescent layer includes a second contact area in contact with the other surface of the electroluminescent layer and a second terminal connected to an external second conductor. The material of the first electrode is higher in volume resistivity than that of the second electrode. The first terminal is formed along one long side of the electroluminescent layer. The second contact area and the second terminal are connected on an area elongated from the electroluminescent layer in a long side direction thereof.

摘要: A mirror with lighting system includes a plurality of organic electroluminescent elements arranged adjacent to one another. A light emission switching device selects one of a full light emission state where all the organic electroluminescent elements emit light, a partial light emission state where some of the organic electroluminescent elements emit light, and a non-light emission state where all the organic electroluminescent elements do not emit light. Therefore, the mirror with lighting system has great light intensity without an external lighting when being used as a lighting system as compared to when being used as a mirror, and permits the entire surface to be used as a mirror when the environment is bright.

摘要: Respective glass substrates 1 of a pair of such EL devices 3 are disposed in such a manner that EL element portions 2 formed on their respective front surfaces 1a are opposed to each other. Spacers 4 are disposed between the two glass substrates 1 so that the EL element portions 2 are separated from each other and do not interfere with each other. In this state, peripheral portions of the two glass substrates 1 are bonded to each other with a sealing material 5, whereby a hollow portion 6 formed between the two glass substrates 1 is sealed with the sealing material 5 and isolated from the outside. Then, the two glass substrates 1 that are integrated together are immersed in an etching liquid, that is, they are subjected to thinning processing.
