摘要: An apparatus for detecting the density (concentration) of toner in a developer for an electrostatic recording apparatus includes an operatively moveable surface for carrying developer onto an electrostatic latent image bearing member during image development, a scraper element having at least a flat surface for scraping developer from the movable surface in a substantially steady and uniform stream along the flat face, and a substantially flat detection coil assembly having oppositely-directed faces. The coil assembly is mounted on, spaced apart from, and substantially parallel to the flat face of the scraper so that the stream of developer passes along both coil assembly faces directly after being scraped from the moveable surface, thereby enhancing the toner density detection sensitivity of the coil assembly.

摘要: An inkjet recording device includes: first and second pairs of rollers for conveying a sheet while nipping the sheet; and a recording head disposed between the first and seconds pairs of rollers. The recording head performs an image recording on the sheet by ejecting ink droplets onto the sheet when the sheet is stopped in an intermittent conveyance of the sheet. The recording head performs the image recording in accordance with a first image-recording data, before a trailing end of the sheet passes through the first pair of rollers that is disposed on an upstream side of the second pair of rollers. The recording head performs the image recording in accordance with a second image-recording data which is based on the first image-recording data and which has a higher image resolution than the first image-recording data, after the trailing end of the sheet passes through the first pair of rollers.

摘要: The present invention provides a method for producing a high-quality reduced metal using an upgraded coal as a carbonaceous material to be incorporated. In the method, coal is first aged by heating in an organic solvent to produce upgraded coal for metallurgy having higher thermal plasticity than that of the coal. Then, a mixture of the upgraded coal for metallurgy and a metal oxide-containing raw material is agglomerated by an agglomerator, and the resultant agglomerates are reduced by heating in a furnace and then melted by further heating to produce a reduced melt. The reduced melt is cooled and solidified in the furnace to produce a reduced solid. The reduced solid is discharged to the outside of the furnace and slag is removed using a screen to recover a metal as a reduced metal.

摘要: A collision test apparatus includes actuators that move a vehicle structural member toward the side of a carrying unit on which a dummy is carried. The actuators can be driven independently of each other. Therefore, the actuators move the vehicle structural member at respectively different driving speeds. In other words, the collision test apparatus does not simply move the vehicle structural member such that the vehicle structural member collides with the dummy, but also causes the vehicle structural member to collide with the dummy while moving the vehicle structural member at different speeds in different positions.

摘要: An information recording medium according to the present invention includes a track on which a data sequence including a plurality of recording marks and a plurality of spaces provided between the plurality of recording marks is recordable; and a recording condition recording area in which a recording condition for recording the data sequence on the track is recordable. Where a recording mark which is included in the data sequence and is to be formed on the track based on the recording condition is a first recording mark, when a length of the first recording mark is longer than a prescribed length, the recording condition is classified using a combination of the length of the first recording mark and a length of a first space located adjacently previous or subsequent to the first recording mark, and when the length of the first recording mark is equal to or shorter than the prescribed length, the recording condition is classified using a combination of the length of the first recording mark, the length of the first space, and a length of a second space not located adjacent to the first space and located adjacent to the first recoding mark.

摘要: A reproduction signal evaluation method according to the present invention relates to adjustment of an edge portion between a shortest mark and a shortest space in a data sequence including marks and spaces in combination that is recordable on an information recording medium. In a pattern including a shortest mark and a shortest space adjacent before or after the shortest mark, a shift amount of an edge of the shortest mark is obtained from a differential metric calculated regarding one of a first pattern in which a space adjacent to the shortest mark and not adjacent to the shortest space is longer than the shortest space; and a second pattern in which a mark adjacent to the shortest space and not adjacent to the shortest mark is longer than the shortest mark.

摘要: A driver circuit includes first and second switching elements connected in series to two ends of an electric voltage source. A driven load having a capacity is connected to a connection line connecting the first and second switching elements to each other. An inverter inverts a control signal into an inverted control signal applied to the second switching element. When the first switching element is turned on by the control signal and the second switching element is turned off by the inverted control signal, a drive voltage is applied from one of the two ends of the electric voltage source to the driven load. When the first switching element is turned off by the control signal and the second switching element is turned on by the inverted control signal, an electric charge of the driven load is discharged to another of the two ends of the electric voltage source.
