摘要: In detecting a deterioration of an air-fuel ratio sensor, a sensor output change speed integrated value is calculated when an element temperature of a solid electrolyte is stabilized at a low temperature. Successively, a sensor output change speed integrated value is calculated when the solid electrolyte element is stabilized at a high temperature. Finally, a deviation between the change speed integrated values is calculated. By comparing the deviation amount with a predetermined determinant, presence or absence of the deterioration is determined.

摘要: The present invention is directed to provide a controller for an internal combustion engine, capable of suppressing deterioration in drivability of an engine. A controller for an internal combustion engine has lean control means for calculating a torque margin from a reference engine speed and an actual engine speed and setting a combustion air-fuel ratio of an internal combustion engine to the lean side on the basis of the torque margin. In addition to correction of a fuel injection amount by the lean control means, the fuel injection amount is further corrected on the basis of a final correction value for reducing deterioration in drivability. The final correction value is set by selecting either a correction value which is set on the basis of an engine speed fluctuation amount or a final correction value of last time, which suppresses deterioration in drivability more. Thus, the operation of setting the air-fuel ratio to the lean side while considering deterioration in drivability can be performed.

摘要: An air-fuel ratio control system for an internal combustion engine includes an air-fuel ratio sensor provided at a collecting portion of an exhaust manifold. The air-fuel ratio sensor monitors an exhaust gas and changes its output in a linear fashion relative to an air-fuel ratio represented by the exhaust gas. The air-fuel ratio sensor is arranged at a position such that, after the number of strokes, corresponding to a multiple of the number of all cylinders, from a fuel injection for each cylinder, the air-fuel ratio sensor can measure an air-fuel ratio caused by the corresponding fuel injection. The system stores a target fuel amount for each of the cylinders. The system derives a feedback correction value depending on a deviation between a fuel amount introduced into the corresponding cylinder, which is derived based on the air-fuel ratio monitored by the air-fuel ratio sensor, and the stored number-of-stroke prior target fuel amount.

摘要: A deterioration monitoring apparatus for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes an air-fuel ratio control system and a deterioration determining circuit. The air-fuel ratio control system controls an air-fuel ratio of exhaust emissions flowing downstream of a catalytic converter disposed in the exhaust system of the engine to agree with a target downstream air-fuel ratio under feedback control based on an air-fuel ratio of exhaust emissions flowing upstream of the catalytic converter and the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust emissions flowing downstream of the catalytic converter. The deterioration determining circuit determines whether the exhaust system such as an oxygen sensor mounted downstream of the catalytic converter or the catalytic converter is deteriorated or not based on the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust emissions flowing downstream of the catalytic converter and the target downstream air-fuel ratio.

摘要: An air conditioner control unit performs air conditioner malfunction detection when it detects idle control malfunctions no less than three times in the engine control unit. For example, it detects whether an evaporator downstream temperature is within a second predetermined range which is computed based on a theoretical value. If such temperature is not within the second predetermined range, the air conditioner control unit determines that there is a malfunction in the air conditioner. Moreover, if it is determined that there is a malfunction in the air conditioner, the air conditioner control unit determines if such malfunction affects emissions or fuel consumption. Then, based on the result of such determination, the engine control unit executes malfunction display.

摘要: A refrigerant tank includes a base plate made of cooper and a reinforcing frame made of stainless steel. A block made of copper extends through the reinforcing frame and has one face in contact with the base plate and an opposite face in contact with a heating body. Heat generated by the heating body is transferred through the cooper block and through the copper base plate to refrigerant inside the refrigerant tank. The stainless steel reinforcing frame provides strength to the refrigerant tank to allow the heating body to be pressed against the heating tank.
