摘要: Cast-coated papers having high surface gloss, smoothness and high surface strength are produced by applying an aqueous pigment coating onto the surface of a base paper, drying the applied pigment coating to form a cast-coated layer, rewetting the pigment coating layer with a rewetting solution, pressing the rewetted pigment coating layer into contact with a heated, highly polished drum to impart a high gloss surface, the rewetting solution containing a dispersant and/or a release agent as its main components and having its pH adjusted to be between 2 and 4 by incorporation of at least one carboxylic acid selected from the group consisting of formic acid, acetic acid, tartatic acid, citric acid, lactic acid, succinic acid, malic acid and benzoic acid.

摘要: A liquid supply device includes a first tank to store a liquid, a first pump to supply the liquid from the first tank to a liquid pan, as a first supply operation, a second tank coupled to the first tank, and a second pump to supply the liquid from the second tank to the first tank, as a second supply operation. The liquid supply device further includes circuitry configured to control the first supply operation and the second supply operation. The circuitry accumulates operation time of the first supply operation and starts the second supply operation at a start of the first supply operation under a condition where a cumulative operation time of the first supply operation is equal to or longer than a threshold.

摘要: In a fixing apparatus of an image forming apparatus, a heating member melts and fixes the unfixed toner. A heat controller controls temperatures of opposite end portion areas and a middle portion area of a surface of the heating member in a width direction perpendicular to a conveyance direction on an individual area basis. A pressure member is pressed against and contacted with the heating member to form a fixing part between the pressure member and the heating member. The heat controller controls the temperatures of the surface of the heating member so that the temperature of at least one of the opposite end portion areas of the surface of the heating member is higher than the temperature of the middle portion area of the surface of the heating member.

摘要: In a coolant system, the interior of a reservoir frame storing the coolant discharged from a machine tool is partitioned by a partition member into an outer peripheral coolant tub and a central coolant tub. The partition member is formed with a silt that extends in the depth direction to make the outer peripheral coolant tub communicate with the central coolant tub. A suction port of a pump that feeds the coolant in the central coolant tub to a filtering device is arranged in the central coolant tub. The coolant discharged from the machine tool is supplied to the central coolant tub without passing through the outer peripheral coolant tub. At least a part of the coolant filtered by the filtering device is supplied to the outer peripheral coolant tub without passing through the central coolant tub.

摘要: The areas of the transparent electrodes of the row electrodes constituting each row electrode pair facing the required discharge cells vary in accordance with the positions of the corresponding discharge cells within the panel screen. Required column electrodes of a plurality of column electrodes, which are provided for allowing an opposing discharge to be initiated across the discharge space between the column electrode and a row electrode of each row electrode pair in each discharge cell of the PDP, have portions facing the transparent electrodes of the row electrodes and provided with widened portions. The areas of the widened portions vary in accordance with the positions of the corresponding discharge cells within the panel screen.
