Process for measuring emission for a flame in an open combustion environment. A captured image is received from each of a plurality of image capturing devices in at least one selected spectral band. Each of the plurality of image capturing devices is trained on the flame from the combustion process from a different perspective view angle. A spectral path length of the flame in the at least one spectral band is estimated from the captured images. Emitted radiance of the flame is estimated from the captured images, and a temperature of the flame is estimated from the estimated emitted radiance. A gas species concentration of the flame is estimated from the temperature of the flame and the spectral path length of the flame. Emission for the flame is measured from the gas species concentration.

The monitoring rule includes logic configured to identify one or more faults with at least one asset, and the statistical performance includes an effectiveness of the monitoring rule in identifying the one or more faults. The method also includes identifying an economic performance of the monitoring rule, where the economic performance is based on costs associated with different outcomes of the monitoring rule. The method further includes updating or replacing the monitoring rule based on the economic performance.

A process is provided for mapping temperatures in an enclosure. A spectral band for a multi-spectral image-capturing device is selected. An intensity-temperature mapping is generated by performing an intensity-temperature calibration based on an intensity of an image pixel in a field of view (FOV) generated by the multi-spectral image-capturing device, a corresponding temperature measurement, and a selected device setting of the image-capturing device. An emitted radiation is detected based on a first spectral image in the FOV. At least one region is determined whether it is poor responsive, which is underexposed or overexposed, such that an accurate temperature is unable to be estimated based on a temperature value associated with the spectral band. Temperatures of the at least one poor responsive regions are replaced with temperatures from corresponding acceptable regions from at least one other spectral image to provide an extended temperature mapping of the enclosure.
