Abstract: A system may include an elongate flexible device, a flexible instrument, and a processor. The elongate flexible device may include a first shape sensor configured to generate first shape data corresponding to a shape of the elongate flexible device. The flexible instrument may include a second shape sensor configured to generate second shape data corresponding to a shape of the flexible instrument. The processor may be configured to register the flexible instrument to the elongate flexible device based on the first shape data and the second shape data. The first shape data and the second shape data may be generated while the flexible instrument is mated with the elongate flexible device.

Abstract: Approaches to addressing asymmetric loads at the distal end of a flexible elongate device are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, symmetry is recovered by mechanically redesigning the flexible elongate device to counter the asymmetric load. In other embodiments, symmetry is recovered by altering the controls scheme for managing the control elements in a flexible elongate device. Generally, a flexible elongate device includes a plurality of control elements able to actuate the distal section. The amount of force applied to each control element can be changed so that the plurality of control elements is able to collectively apply a bending moment that counters the asymmetric load.

Abstract: An energy delivery system and methods for an ablation procedure may include a generator configured to generate an electrical signal having an operating frequency for an ablation operation and an ablation probe coupled to the generator and configured to receive the electrical signal from the generator. Abstract: A system may comprise an elongated tool through which a lumen extends and may comprise a stylet including an expandable electrode portion. The expandable electrode portion may have a collapsed configuration within the lumen and may have an expanded configuration outside of the lumen. A diameter of the expandable electrode portion may be larger in the expanded configuration than the collapsed configuration.
