    摘要: A liquid crystal screen display is disclosed which is capable of restraining occurrence of display unevenness. In the display of the invention, a conductive member to which a negative voltage is applied is placed between a substrate and an alignment layer so as to be in partial contact with the alignment layer. Uneven ion distribution attributable to ion generation within broken or pin hole parts of an overcoat film is restrained, for instance, by exposing gate signal lines etc. to the alignment layer so that ions are intentionally generated in the regions of the liquid crystal layer corresponding to the exposed regions.

    摘要: In one embodiment, the liquid crystal shutter is equipped with a first liquid crystal panel in the OCB mode to control the transmissivity of the light entering into left eye and a second liquid crystal panel in the OCB mode to control the transmissivity of the light entering into right eye, and a drive portion to control the transmissivity. The drive portion applies a normal voltage of a normal drive in a pulse shape and a retention voltage having a pulse shape with lower frequency than the normal voltage or lower voltage than normal voltage to the first liquid crystal panel and the second liquid crystal panel. The drive portion switches between the normal drive and the retention drive while maintaining bend alignment state.

The optical compensation element includes a polarizer, a first retardation plate which is disposed between the polarizer and the liquid crystal display panel and in which discotic liquid crystal molecules are fixed in a state in which the discotic liquid crystal molecules are hybrid-aligned along a normal direction, and a second retardation plate which is disposed between the polarizer and the first retardation plate and has wavelength dispersion characteristics which are opposite to wavelength dispersion characteristics of an in-plane retardation in the liquid crystal layer.

The control unit includes an insertion unit which causes the pixel to store a first voltage corresponding to a video signal in a first period within one frame period and to store a second voltage corresponding to a non-video signal in a second period that follows the first period, and a driving unit which enables the light source at least in a period corresponding to the first period in which the first voltage is held in the pixel, and disables the light source in a period corresponding to the second period in which the second voltage is held in the pixel, and is configured to set the first and second voltages at different independent values.
