    摘要: Resinoid-bonded grinding tools are prepared by applying a liquid thermosetting resin to the circumferential surface of a disc-like base member and then after coating metal-coated abrasive grains with a liquid thermosetting resin, mixing the coated grains with a powdered thermosetting resin. The mixture of the coated grains and the powdered thermosetting resin is press-formed upon the surface of the base member and then thermally set by heating.

    摘要: An apparatus for successively truing and dressing a grinding wheel made of cubic boron nitride (CBN) with a diamond-impregnated truing roll and a metal dressing roll. The truing and dressing rolls are rotatably mounted on a roll carriage which is slidably mounted on a grinding machine so as to feed the rolls toward the CBN wheel and thereafter traversely move the rolls along the wheel surface of the CBN wheel. After truing with the truing roll, a coolant fluid mixed with liberation abrasive grain is supplied toward a gap of a predetermined distance, smaller than the mean size of the abrasive grain, which is established between the CBN wheel and the dressing roll, so that the liberation abrasive grain acts to grind and remove bond material from the wheel surface in order to accomplish the dressing of the CBN wheel.

    摘要: A resinoid-bonded grinding wheel employing hard abrasives such as cubic boron nitride or diamond is formed with a support member made of a vitrified grinding wheel. The support member has sealing layers on the surfaces thereof for avoiding the penetration of coolant into the support member. A method for forming the wheel includes mounting a grinding element on a radial peripheral surface portion of the support member and applying a sealing layer to the remaining surface portions of the grinding element for preventing penetration of the coolant into the support member and generation of vibrations in the grinding wheel during operation due to rotational imbalance caused by the presence of coolant within the support member.

    摘要: In a grinding wheel in which abrasive tips for rough grinding and abrasive tips for finish grinding are alternately bonded to a periphery of a disk type base rotating about a rotation axis, each abrasive tip includes the abrasive layer formed by bonding abrasive grains and a lower layer overlaid and integrally for led with the abrasive layer. The abrasive tip is attached to the periphery of the base at the lower layer. A Young's modulus of the lower layer of the abrasive tip for finish grinding relative to a load acting on the grinding surface of the abrasive tip in an inward direction of the grinding wheel is less than that of the abrasive tip for rough grinding. Thereby, the surface of a workpiece can be both rough-ground and finish-ground with superhigh-precision surface roughness with using one grinding wheel.

    摘要: An abrasive tool includes an electroformed layer having superabrasive grains electroplated on an outer surface of the electroformed layer, and a plurality of dimples arranged on the outer surface of the electroformed layer using a mold with projections made of gel adhesive. The concentration of the abrasive gains is regulated by changing the number of the dimples (i.e., changing a dimple-area-rate). The gel adhesive preferably has a viscosity of 500,000 cP or smaller. The dimple-area-rate is preferably from 7 to 70%.
