摘要: Provided is a physical quantity measuring method using a Brillouin optical fiber sensor. An optical fiber is set on a structure and a pair of pulse lights having different pulse widths is selected. The pulse lights are sequentially transmitted through the optical fiber to obtain back scattering lights and Brillouin gain spectra. The Brillouin gain spectra are compared to each other to calculate a normalized spectrum and a Brillouin frequency is acquired based on the normalized spectrum. The Brillouin frequency is multiplied by a conversion factor of a corresponding physical quantity of the structure to obtain the physical quantity. Accordingly, a portion of the optical fiber from which a sensing signal can be acquired is shortened to improve spatial resolution.

摘要: Medical devices or components thereof, and particularly intracorporeal devices for therapeutic or diagnostic uses, which are formed at least in part of a polymeric material and a ferromagnetic or paramagnetic material, so that the medical device or component thereof is visible on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. In one embodiment, the medical device is a balloon catheter having an MRI visible balloon. In a presently preferred embodiment, there is an insufficient amount of the ferromagnetic or paramagnetic material within a wall of the balloon or coated onto a wall of the balloon to make the balloon radiopaque.

摘要: A method of sterilizing a medical device component, such as a catheter balloon, in which an electron beam (i.e., e-beam) is applied to the component in an evacuated or inert gas-filled container. The method of the invention allows for electron beam sterilization without significant degradation of the component polymeric material. In one embodiment, the device component is configured to be pressurized or expanded during use. The method of the invention provides a component with a rupture pressure that is not significantly decreased due to electron beam sterilization. Another aspect of the invention is a medical device component, e-beam sterilized according to a method of the invention. A variety of medical device components can be sterilized by the method of the invention, and particularly intracorporeal devices for therapeutic or diagnostic purposes, such as balloon catheters, catheter shafts and balloons, stent covers, and vascular grafts.

摘要: A travel route searching method of a mobile object whereby a travel route preferred by a user of a mobile object is searched using a road preferred by the user of the mobile object, a travel pattern at a crossroad and a road recommended by other user, and wherein the method comprises the steps of: collecting information of a road traveled by the mobile object, and discriminating a road preference by the collected information of the road to search the travel route; collecting a behavioral factor of the mobile object at a crossroad, and discriminating a behavioral factor preference of the user by the collected behavioral factor to search the travel route; storing as a recommended road the information of the road the mobile object has traveled if there is a instruction of storing the recommended road; and searching a recommended road situated between a starting point and a destination if the travel route is searched. Preference of the user relative to roads, a travel pattern preferred by the user and a recommended route are selectively used for the search of the travel route by the user.
