The dishwasher includes a tub having a receiving space in which objects to be washed are received, a sump for storing wash water supplied into the tub, a heater that heats the wash water in the sump to generate steam, a steam nozzle for spraying the steam into the tub, a filter assembly that purifies the wash water supplied to the sump and communicates with the tub so that the steam generated in the sump is supplied into the tub and a barrier for dividing inner space of the sump into a first section communicating with the filter assembly and a second section communicating with the steam nozzle. The barrier allows the wash water flows between the first and second sections and suppresses flow of the steam from the second section to the first section.

    摘要: In a dual intake valve arrangement for an internal combustion engine, a continuously variable valve lift (CVVL) system controls two intake valves for one or more engine cylinders. In each cylinder, one of the intake valves includes an associated valve deactivation device, and the other intake valve does not. To improve in-cylinder air flow turbulence under low valve lift, one of the intake valves may be deactivated, resulting in mixture intake through only one valve, resulting in strong swirl by unbalanced flow. A CVVL-equipped engine including a valve deactivation device provides the same amount of air flow for the same engine load as a prior art CVVL engine. A method of introducing a swirl to the mixture is also described.

    摘要: A hybrid camshaft phaser comprising a conventional vane-type hydraulically-actuated phaser to which is coupled an electric motor and gear transmission. The transmission output shaft is coupled to the phaser rotor, optionally via an intermediate clutch mechanism. Under engine operating conditions in which the response of a hydraulic phaser is poor, the electric motor operates to augment the hydraulic actuation. Such conditions include at least low ambient temperatures at which oil viscosities are high, and high ambient temperatures and/or low engine speeds at which oil pressures are low. Preferably, at engine speeds above about 1500 rpm, the electric motor is de-energized.

    摘要: A continuously variable valve duration system including a rocker assembly acted upon by two off-spaced camshafts for selectively varying the closing point of a valve in an internal combustion engine. An opening camshaft is rotatably driven by the engine crankshaft and controls at least the opening and point of the valve through a rocker assembly disposed on a fixed pivot shaft. A closing camshaft, rotatably connected to the opening intake camshaft through a cam phaser, is poised to take over control of the valve closing event through the same rocker assembly. By changing the rotational phase of the closing camshaft relative to the opening camshaft via the cam phaser, the valve closing event can be either retarded or advanced so as to override the opening camshaft and thus selectively vary the valve event duration.

    摘要: A fuel vapor generator disposed in the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. The vapor generator enriches air passing through the manifold to the individual cylinders to enhance engine starting capability, especially at low ambient temperatures. A dedicated fuel injector dispenses atomized fuel onto the surface of an electrically-heated element spaced apart from the nozzle of the fuel injector. The element is positioned within the manifold such that evaporated fuel is immediately swept from the generator by intake air and mixed with air in the manifold. In one aspect of the invention, the location for the heating element is immediately downstream of the manifold air intake throttle valve. The invention is especially useful for spark-ignited engines.

    摘要: A system for selectively switching the action of a valve in an internal combustion engine includes a roller finger follower having a frame and a disengageable roller. A two-part axial pin for the roller axle is spring-loaded to urge the pin axially of the roller axle to disengage the first part of the pin from the follower frame and simultaneously disengage the second part of the pin from the roller axle. Thus the roller becomes detached from the frame and the follower cannot actuate its designated valve. The roller and pins are retained within the frame by at least one torsion spring. The pins may be controllably reinserted into the sides of the roller and frame to reconnect the roller to the frame by any of various electromechanical and/or hydraulic means. When used in conjunction with a camshaft having high lift and low lift cam lobes, the deactivated follower will then actuate its designated valve according to the profile of the low lift lobes, which may be a no lift profile.

The locking pin assembly has a first position wherein the shaft is decoupled from the body and a second position wherein the shaft is coupled to the body. The present invention may provide a Michelson interferometer housing system including a first housing including a first surface on which a fixed mirror is installed, a second surface perpendicular to the first surface, and a first diagonal surface on which a beam splitter assembly to which light is incident from the outside is installed, the first diagonal surface being formed at 45 degrees with respect to the second surface; and a second housing including a third surface on which a movable mirror is installed, a fourth surface perpendicular to the third surface, and a second diagonal surface corresponding to the first diagonal surface, wherein the first and second housings are combined such that the first and second diagonal surfaces face each other to allow the light entering from the outside to be divided through the beam splitter assembly and incident to the fixed mirror and the movable mirror.
