    摘要: An apparatus and method for local area communication between Bluetooth and MBOA-MAC devices is provided. A new Bluetooth Protocol Adaptation Layer (PAL) is implemented to adapt a Bluetooth host module and an MBOA-MAC to each other so as to enable use of conventional legacy Bluetooth applications in a wireless network environment employing a WiMedia Multiband OFDM Alliance (MBOA)-based Media Access Control (MAC) layer. This allows devices equipped with a conventional Bluetooth host module to perform high-speed data communication based on MBOA-MAC, thereby increasing the efficiency of utilization of networks.

    摘要: Provided are a routing table generating method, a data transmission method, and a routing route formation method for multi-hop communication in high rate wireless personal networks. In a high rate WPAN environment including a plurality of piconets, a piconet controller (PNC), which performs a topology server function to provide the optimal route, collects link state information from the PNCs or DEVs (devices) belonging to a sub-tree that serves as a root and applies a minimum cost algorithm based on the collected link state information to calculate the optimal route for all pairs of originations and destinations existing within the sub-tree in consideration of QoS. The optimal route information is transmitted to the origination PNC via the destination PNC/DEV. During performing this, the optimal route between the pairs of originations and destinations is set.

The edge combiner includes a plurality of XOR gates for receiving a first delayed pulse and a second delayed pulse from an nth delay cell and an (n+1)th delay cell among the plurality of delay cells and generating fine pulses, respectively, and an OR gate for receiving a first fine pulse and a second fine pulse respectively output from a first XOR gate and a second XOR gate included in the plurality of XOR gates.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method for controlling a power level based on a packet error rate (PER) in a wireless personal area network (WPAN) system. The method for controlling a power level based on a packet error rate (PER) in a wireless personal area network (WPAN) system, includes the steps of: a) at a receiver, computing a PER of a packet in an initial check duration of PER (DP) wherein a transmission power level of the packet is set by a piconet coordinator (PNC); b) at the receiver, determining whether the computed PER satisfies a target PER, adjusting a target signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) and requesting a transmitter to adjust the initial transmission power level; and c) at the receiver, determining whether the number (N) of successive G is larger than a power control threshold, wherein G denotes DP satisfying the target PER, changing the target SIR based on the determination result whether the number (N) of successive G is larger than the power control threshold, and requesting the transmitter to adjust the possible transmission power level.

    摘要: A CardBus PC Card type wireless transmitting/receiving device performs a wireless data transmission/reception operation between a plurality of notebook PCs and an MB-OFDM (Multiband Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) UWB (Ultra Wide Band) type piconet coordinator. The device includes a wireless 1394 device, built in the notebook PC in the form of a CardBus PC Card, for converting a CardBus PC Card access signal of the notebook PC into an MB-OFDM UWB signal to transmit the converted MB-OFDM UWB signal, and inversely converting a received MB-OFDM UWB signal into a CardBus PC Card access signal of the notebook PC. The device can easily be built in a notebook PC, has a simple structure with a low cost, has a very high wireless transmission speed of 55 to 480 Mbps in comparison to the existing IEEE 802.11b type wireless 1394 bridge device in the form of an external IEEE 1394 adapter, and guarantees the QoS (Quality of Service) using the IEEE802.15.3 type MAC to provide a high-quality service to users.

    摘要: Provided is an apparatus and method for detecting a packet of a zero-padded OFDM signal, which are capable of determining if a packet exists in a reception (RX) signal by comparing a cross-correlation value of an OFDM signal delayed by a predetermined sample time, e.g., a zero-padded sample time, with a power value of the RX signal, thereby increasing a packet detection probability and preventing a false alarm. The packet detecting apparatus includes: a cross-correlation calculator for calculating a cross-correlation value of a reception signal received from the outside and delaying the calculated cross-correlation value by a predetermined sample time; a power calculator for calculating a power value of the reception signal; and a packet detector for determining if a packet exists in the reception signal by comparing the delayed cross-correlation value with the calculated power value, and detecting the corresponding packet.
