Abstract: A method of acknowledging data transmissions for a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensor module includes generating tire pressure information based on measuring an internal air pressure of a tire; selectively operating a transceiver in an advertising mode and a standby mode; transmitting, by the transceiver, a message including the pressure information while in the advertising mode; on a condition that the transceiver receives, in the advertising mode, an acknowledgement in response to the transmitted message, setting the transceiver into the standby mode; while the transceiver is in the advertising mode and on a condition that the transceiver does not receive any acknowledgement in response to the transmitted message within a waiting period, instructing the transceiver to retransmit the message via a command; and retransmitting the message, by the transceiver, in the advertising mode after the waiting period in response to the command.

Abstract: A tire pressure monitor sensor is disclosed. The sensor includes a wireless transmitter and a processing unit. The processing unit provides a time trigger signal within a measurement period and triggers a wireless transmission of a reference signal indicating an occurrence of the time trigger signal to a remote unit. The tire pressure monitor sensor is configured to derive, based on a plurality of acceleration measurement samples within the measurement period, information indicting at least one rotation property of a tire. The tire pressure monitor sensor is further configured to wirelessly transmit the derived information to a remote unit separate from the reference signal.

Abstract: A tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and TPMS sensor module are provide. The TPMS sensor module includes a pressure sensor configured to measure an internal air pressure of a tire and generate tire pressure information, a microcontroller unit electrically connected to the pressure sensor, and a transceiver electrically connected to the microcontroller unit, the transceiver configured to transmit a message including the pressure information. Where, on a condition that the transceiver receives an acknowledgement in response to the transmitted message, the microcontroller unit is configured to set the transceiver into a standby mode, and, where, on a condition that the transceiver does not receive any acknowledgement in response to the transmitted message within a waiting period, the microcontroller unit is configured to instruct the transceiver to retransmit the message, and the transceiver is configured to retransmit the message after the waiting period.

Abstract: A method of localizing a TPMS sensor module includes transmitting, by the TPMS sensor module, a TPMS signal; and localizing, by a localization module, the TPMS sensor module based on receiving the TPMS signal at a phase array antenna including a plurality of reception antennas each configured to receive the TPMS signal at a different phase, where the plurality of reception antennas include a reference reception antenna and at least one additional reception antenna. Localizing the TPMS sensor module includes measuring a reference phase of the TPMS signal received at the reference reception antenna, measuring a respective shifted phase of the TPMS signal received at each of the at least one additional reception antenna, determining a respective phase shift between the reference phase and each respective shifted phase, and determining a location of the TPMS sensor module based on each determined respective phase shift corresponding to the TPMS signal.
