摘要: An apparatus and system of validity conditions for pre-configured assistance data used during a long term evolution (LTE) Positioning Protocol (LPP) location procedure are described. The validity conditions are used to determine whether or not the assistance data remains valid for performing location measurements. The validity conditions may indicate that the assistance data is limited to a single positioning session or may be used for multiple sessions. In the latter case, the validity conditions may indicate geographic, timing, or number of sessions limitations. When the UE determines that the assistance data is no longer valid based on the validity conditions, the UE may request new assistance data prior to performing the measurements.

摘要: An apparatus and system to enable dynamic offloading and execution of compute tasks are described. In split CU-DU RAN architectures, the CU-CP is connected with multiple compute control functions (CF) and service functions (SF) that have different computing hardware/software capabilities. Different architectures depend on whether the SF is collocated with the CU-UP, the CU-UP and SF only serve compute messages, a compute message is supplied directly to the CU-UP or also traverses the CU-CP. In response to reception from a UE of a compute message containing data for computation being sent to the CU-CP through the DU, the CU-CP sends the data to the SF with identifiers and sends the result to the UE.

摘要: A computer-readable storage medium stores instructions for execution by one or more processors of a UE. The instructions configure the UE for small data transmission (SDT) in a 5G NR network and cause the UE to perform operations comprising detecting while in an RRC_Inactive state, a radio link failure during a first SDT of UL data to a base station. A secure key for a second SDT is generated based on the radio link failure. A configuration message including an indication of the second SDT is transmitted to the base station. A response message including a UL grant is received from the base station. The UL data is encoded for the second SDT using the secure key. The second SDT is performed using the UL grant while the UE is in the RRC_Inactive state.

摘要: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Evolved Node-B (eNB) and methods for communication in accordance with a packet convergence and link control (PCLC) layer are generally described herein. The UE may receive, from a Fifth Generation (5G) eNB, a first group of medium access control (MAC) protocol data units (PDUs) that include PCLC PDUs. In accordance with PCLC sequence numbers (SNs), the UE may reorder the PCLC PDUs and may decipher the PCLC PDUs. The UE may receive, from a legacy eNB, a second group of MAC PDUs that include packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) PDUs encapsulated in radio link control (RLC) PDUs. The UE may reorder the RLC PDUs based on RLC SNs and may decipher the RLC PDUs based on PDCP SNs that are exclusive to the RLC SNs.

摘要: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Evolved Node-B (eNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The UE may receive a SystemInformationBlockType1 from an eNB. The UE may determine that the eNB supports Fifth Generation Core (5GC) operation if the SysteminformationBlocklType1 message includes a plmn-Identity-5GC-r15 parameter. The UE may transmit a radio resource control (RRC) connection request message to establish an RRC connection. If it is determined that the eNB supports 5GC operation, and if the UE supports 5GC operation, the UE may encode the RRC connection request message in accordance with a default new radio packet data convergence protocol (NR PDCP) configuration; and may use NR PDCP for one or more subsequent messages.

摘要: A secondary node (SN) in evolved universal mobile telecommunications system terrestrial radio access network new radio-dual connectivity (EN-DC) with a master node (MN) can directly provide measurement configuration and receive measurement reports from a UE and/or coordinate measurement configuration and reporting with the MN. For example, only one measurement object configuration is allowed for a frequency, but both MN and SN can provide measurement reporting configurations on the same measurement object. The UE can send measurement reports for the same measurement object to both MN and SN or the node that configured the reporting criteria configuration. In another embodiment, only one node provides the reporting configuration but configures the UE to provide reporting to one node or both MN and SN.

摘要: A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configuring the UE for Dual Connectivity (DC) with a Master Node-B (MN) and a Secondary Node-B (SN). The processing circuitry is to decode connection reconfiguration information received from the MN. The connection reconfiguration information includes signaling radio bearer type 3 (SRB3) configuration information. The SRB3 configuration information originating from the SN and configuring a SRB3, where the SRB3 is for direct communication between the UE and the SN. At least one of a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration completion message or a measurement report message is encoded for transmission to the SN.

摘要: An apparatus and system of paging using paging early indication (PEI) and subgrouping are described. A fifth generation nodeB (gNB) checks paging information of a UE from a limited paging container of the UE provided from the core network to determine whether PEI/subgrouping information is present. The limited paging container contains paging information of the UE that is provided in the UE capability and is used by a previous gNB. If the paging information of the UE does not indicate the ability of the UE to use PEI and/or subgrouping, the gNB checks the information in the UE capability; if the paging information and the UE capability conflict, the gNB signals the UE to monitor for PEI/Subgrouping. The gNB updates the paging capability with PEI and/or subgrouping support before the UE enters idle mode or inactive state and sends the update to the core network.

摘要: An apparatus and system for traffic Steering for Service Function Chaining (SFC) are described. Different protocol stacks may be used to enable SFC for the user plane.
