Abstract: Provided herein are apparatus and method for user equipment (UE) panel selection. The disclosure provides an apparatus for a UE, comprising: a radio frequency (RF) interface to receive one or more reference signal resources from a next generation NodeB (gNB); and processor circuitry coupled with the RF interface, the processor circuitry to: determine a beam quality for each of the one or more reference signal resources received at each panel of the UE; and report beam information to the gNB, the beam information to indicate the beam quality of each of the one or more reference signal resources and corresponding panel for receiving each of the one or more reference signal resources. Other embodiments may also be disclosed and claimed.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to decode a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) resource received from a Next Generation NodeB (gNB) is disclosed. The UE can decode a downlink control channel signal received from the gNB in a first bandwidth part. The downlink control channel signal may include an index of a second bandwidth part, and an indication of a CSI-RS transmission in the second bandwidth part having the index. The UE can switch from the first bandwidth part to the second bandwidth part. The UE can decode the CSI-RS transmission received from the gNB in the second bandwidth part.

Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Evolved Node-B (eNB) and methods for communication in accordance with a packet convergence and link control (PCLC) layer are generally described herein. The UE may receive, from a Fifth Generation (5G) eNB, a first group of medium access control (MAC) protocol data units (PDUs) that include PCLC PDUs. In accordance with PCLC sequence numbers (SNs), the UE may reorder the PCLC PDUs and may decipher the PCLC PDUs. The UE may receive, from a legacy eNB, a second group of MAC PDUs that include packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) PDUs encapsulated in radio link control (RLC) PDUs. The UE may reorder the RLC PDUs based on RLC SNs and may decipher the RLC PDUs based on PDCP SNs that are exclusive to the RLC SNs.

Abstract: Embodiments of a system and method for reporting channel state information (CSI) in a wireless network are generally described herein. In some embodiments, an apparatus of a User Equipment (UE) can include physical layer circuitry to receive, in a first subframe, a first aperiodic CSI request from a first cell group, and a second aperiodic CSI request from a second cell group. The UE can include processing circuitry to determine a number of requested CSI processes corresponding to the first aperiodic CSI request and the second aperiodic CSI request. Additionally, the processing circuitry can select a subset of the requested CSI processes when the determined number of requested CSI processes is more than five. Furthermore, the processing circuitry can calculate CSI for the selected CSI processes.

Abstract: A method of support of aggressive user equipment (UE) minimum processing times for physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) processing and physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) preparation in new radio (NR) is disclosed. The method includes indicating or causing to indicate a capability from the UE to the network in the form of capability reporting for support of Capability 2 processing times, and multiplexing or causing to multiplex scheduling instances with Capabilities 1 or 2 based on the indication. The method also includes applying or causing to apply a relaxation to the minimum UE processing times, N1, indicating time between end of PDSCH to earliest start of corresponding hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledge (HARQ-ACK) feedback transmission when the PDSCH has specific durations and/or mapping types or has time-domain overlaps with the scheduling physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). A corresponding apparatus and non-transitory computer readable medium are also disclosed.

Abstract: An eNodeB operable to perform Enhanced Interference Mitigation & Traffic Adaptation (eIMTA) is disclosed. The eNodeB can select a radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) that is used for eIMTA. The eNodeB can determine a periodicity for monitoring a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) with the RNTI. The eNodeB can determine a set of subframes to monitor the PDCCH with the RNTI within the periodicity. The eNodeB can encode, for transmission to a user equipment (UE), the RNTI, the periodicity for monitoring the PDCCH with the RNTI, and the set of subframes to monitor the PDCCH with the RNTI.

Abstract: An apparatus is configured for a user equipment (UE) device. The apparatus comprises baseband circuitry and/or application circuitry which includes a radio frequency (RF) interface and one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to generate a physical random access channel (PRACH) within a slot at a medium access control (MAC) layer, generate a scheduling request (SR) within the slot at the MAC layer, determine a PRACH prioritization and an SR prioritization at a physical layer according to a prioritization rule; and provide the PRACH and the SR to the RF interface for transmission according to the prioritization rule.
