Abstract: A multi-camera architecture for detecting and tracking a ball in real-time. The multi-camera architecture includes network interface circuitry to receive a plurality of real-time videos taken from a plurality of high-resolution cameras. Each of the high-resolution cameras simultaneously captures a sports event, wherein each of the plurality of high-resolution cameras includes a viewpoint that covers an entire playing field where the sports event is played. The multi-camera architecture further includes one or more processors coupled to the network interface circuitry and one or more memory devices coupled to the one or more processors. The one or more memory devices includes instructions to determine the location of the ball for each frame of the plurality of real-time videos, which when executed by the one or more processors, cause the multi-camera architecture to simultaneously perform one of a detection scheme or a tracking scheme on a frame from each of the plurality of real-time videos to detect the ball used in the sports event and perform a multi-camera build to determine a location of the ball in 3D for the frame from each of the plurality of real-time videos using one of detection or tracking results for each of the cameras.

Abstract: Avatar animation systems disclosed herein provide high quality, real-time avatar animation that is based on the varying countenance of a human face. In some example embodiments, the real-time provision of high quality avatar animation is enabled at least in part, by a multi-frame regressor that is configured to map information descriptive of facial expressions depicted in two or more images to information descriptive of a single avatar blend shape. The two or more images may be temporally sequential images. This multi-frame regressor implements a machine learning component that generates the high quality avatar animation from information descriptive of a subject's face and/or information descriptive of avatar animation frames previously generated by the multi-frame regressor. The machine learning component may be trained using a set of training images that depict human facial expressions and avatar animation authored by professional animators to reflect facial expressions depicted in the set of training images.

Abstract: The invention provides a video codec. In one embodiment, the video codec is coupled to an outer memory storing a reference frame, and comprises an interface circuit, an in-chip memory, a motion estimation circuit, and a controller. The interface circuit obtains in-chip data from the reference frame stored in the outer memory. The in-chip memory stores the in-chip data. The motion estimation circuit retrieves search window data from the in-chip data with a search window, and performs a motion estimation process on a current macroblock according to the search-window data. The controller shifts the location of the search window when the current macroblock is shifted, marks a macroblock shifted out from the search window as an empty macroblock, and controls the interface circuit to obtain an updated macroblock for replacing the empty macroblock in the in-chip memory from the reference frame stored in the outer memory.

Abstract: Apparatuses, methods and storage medium associated with animating and rendering an avatar are disclosed herein. In embodiments, the apparatus may include a gesture tracker and an animation engine. The gesture tracker may be configured to detect and track a user gesture that corresponds to a canned facial expression, the user gesture including a duration component corresponding to a duration the canned facial expression is to be animated. Further, the gesture tracker may be configured to respond to a detection and tracking of the user gesture, and output one or more animation messages that describe the detected/tracked user gesture or identify the canned facial expression, and the duration. The animation engine may be configured to receive the one or more animation messages, and drive an avatar model, in accordance with the one or more animation messages, to animate the avatar with animation of the canned facial expressions for the duration. Abstract: Integrated circuit (IC) die packages including a glass with conductive through-glass vias (TGVs). The TGVs are lined with a buffer comprising an inorganic material having a low elastic (Young's) modulus. The buffer may thereby accommodate internal stress between the glass and through via metallization formed over the buffer. The compliant inorganic material may be a metal or metal alloy, for example, different than that of the via metallization. The inorganic material may also be a metal nitride, metal silicide, or metal carbide. A TGV buffer may be one material layer of a stack comprising two or more material layers deposited upon TGV sidewall surfaces. A routing structure may be built-up on at least one side of the glass and IC die assembled to the routing structure. The buffer Ipresent within the TGVs may be absent from metal features of the routing structure.
