摘要: Transparent conductors and methods for fabricating transparent conductors are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a method for fabricating a transparent conductor comprises forming a dispersion comprising a plurality of conductive components and a solvent, applying the dispersion to a substrate in an environment having a predetermined atmospheric humidity that is based on a selected surface resistivity of the transparent conductor, and causing the solvent to at least partially evaporate such that the plurality of conductive components remains overlying the substrate.

摘要: A coating, such as ink or paint, is used, where particles in the coating are selected based on electric, magnetic, or light/photo properties, and are dispersed in the coating to provide a desired physical color. In one approach, the application of the coating to the substrate such as paper is controlled using an electric or magnetic field. In another approach, a pattern is formed in a coating on a substrate by targeting an electric, magnetic or photo field to specific locations on the coating. In yet another approach, the color of a coating that is applied to an object is shifted to match a background color so that the coating appears to be erased. In this approach, the coating may be in the form of a label, such as a bar code, that can be read by a scanner at a point of sale location. In another approach a pattern or code is scrambled or removed by applying an electric, magnetic, or photo field to specific locations on the coating or substrate.

摘要: A method of manufacturing an integrated light emitting diode display is provided. In one exemplary embodiment, the method includes the step of biologically forming a pn junction over a substrate, the pn junction capable of emitting a light having a predetermined color upon the application of energy thereto. In another exemplary embodiment, a method of manufacturing a light emitting diode is provided. The method includes depositing a biological material over the substrate, the biological material having an affinity for a pn junction material, and exposing the deposited biological material to the first pn junction material to form a doped area of a pn junction. In still another exemplary embodiment, a light emitting diode is provided. The light emitting diode includes a substrate and a biologically formed pn junction disposed over the substrate, wherein light having a predetermined color is emitted upon application of energy to the pn junction.

摘要: The formation of articles using a breathable, electromagnetic shielding material. More particularly, a material and process for the formation of articles capable of shielding electromagnetic waves while allowing the release of thermal energy. Electromagnetic shielding powder particles are infused into cavities of multilobal polymeric fibers and between the fibers forming a flexible, breathable electromagnetic shielding material suitable for forming shaped articles.
