摘要： A fluid-ejection device includes a handheld and/or mountable enclosure, a pneumatic fitting, an electrical connector, and a controller. The pneumatic fitting extends from and/or through the enclosure and is receptive to placement of a tip thereon. The tip contains a supply of fluid, a fluid-ejection mechanism, and an electrical connector for the fluid-ejection mechanism. The electrical connector extends from and/or through the enclosure and is receptive to electrical coupling of the electrical connector of the tip. The controller is situated within the enclosure to cause the tip to eject the fluid via the electrical coupling of the electrical connectors of the tip and the fluid-ejection device.

摘要： Materials and methods for freeform fabrication of a solid three-dimensional object are provided. At least one layer of support material and at least one layer of build material are dispensed onto a substrate. The support material includes at least one of water and a fusible water-containing substance and the build material is a substance other than water or a fusible, water-containing substance. After solidification, the at least one layer of support material is removed by an automated or manual process which includes washing with water at ambient temperature and/or causing the support material to undergo a phase change, to produce the solid three-dimensional object.

摘要： Various techniques for dispensing liquids are disclosed herein. In one embodiment a dispenser retention apparatus includes a frame. The frame includes a top surface configured to retain a liquid dispensing assembly. The frame also includes a bottom surface opposite the top surface. The bottom surface includes a first channel extending from a first lateral edge of the frame to a droplet passage between the top and bottom surfaces. The first channel is configured to allow a light beam introduced to the frame at the first lateral edge to intersect a droplet in the passage.

摘要： Methods and apparatus are provided related to fluid dispensing heads. A dispense head is formed to define a plurality of fluid jetting nozzles and a surface pattern. The surface pattern is characterized by one or more voids extending inward from an outer surface of the dispense head. Fluid puddle formation during operation of the dispense head is limited in volume by way of the surface pattern. Fluid puddle limiting reduces or eliminates dispensing errors to an entity, undesirable artifacts from resulting on a printed media, or similar problems.

摘要： A printhead includes a chamber layer and at least two orifice layers. A first orifice layer is disposed on the chamber layer, and a second orifice layer is disposed on the first orifice layer. The second orifice layer has at least one counterbore formed therein. A first nozzle is formed through both orifice layers and produces droplets of a first drop weight. A second nozzle is formed through the first orifice layer, coincident with the counterbore, and produces droplets of a second drop weight that is different than the first drop weight. In one embodiment, the printhead is used in a stand-alone fluid-dispensing device.

摘要： A printer that includes a multi-colorant print cartridge is described. The printer can determine if a level of a most depleted colorant in the multi-colorant cartridge and a level of a least depleted colorant in the multi-colorant cartridge meet predetermined criteria. The printer can, if the criteria are met, perform a default printing procedure to print the document. The printer can, if the criteria are not met, perform an alternative printing procedure to print the document. The alternative printing procedure uses more of the least depleted colorant to print the document as compared to the default printing procedure.
