摘要: An improved catheter includes a double spiral configuration of infusion holes around the circumference and along the length of the catheter which provides an improved lateral dispersion of a thrombolytic fluid to more completely and quickly lyse a clot through which the catheter is passing. The double spiral configuration consists of groups or sets of infusion holes, typically groups of four. The holes in each set are longitudinally spaced from each other at substantially regular intervals along the length of the catheter. Each successive hole in a given group is circumferentially spaced by an angular distance of about 90.degree. around the circumference of the catheter relative to the immediately preceding hole. Each group of holes is circumferentially spaced or offset by an angular distance of between 1.degree. and 89.degree. relative to the immediately preceding group of holes. Typically, the angular spacing between successive groups of holes is 18.degree..

摘要: One example of a media delivery system includes a burrette defining a chamber and having inlet and outlet connections in fluid communication with the chamber. The burrette further includes a vent assembly configured for fluid communication with the chamber. In addition, a float and seat assembly of the media delivery system include a buoyant float positioned in the chamber of the burette, where the float is arranged for movement within the chamber. The float and seat assembly further includes a seat assembly positioned in the chamber of the burrette and configured to cooperate with the float to manage a flow of fluid through the outlet connection of the chamber. Finally, a fluid management device is provided that is located proximate the inlet to the chamber.

摘要: The present invention relates to a turbulence minimization apparatus comprising a float and seat assembly adapted to control turbulence and formation of microbubbles in a quantity of contrast media in the burette of a contrast media delivery system. The float includes an upper convex surface providing an impact surface for droplets of contrast media which fall from the inlet of the burette, a lower convex surface for sealing a drainage bore when the volume of contrast media has been substantially drained from the burette, and a predetermined amount of buoyancy. The seat assembly includes a plurality of fluid passageways that allow contrast media to contact the lower convex surface of the float allowing the buoyancy of the float to separate the float from the drainage bore when there is more than a predetermined amount of fluid in the drip chamber.

摘要: A guidewire holder is provided that stores a coiled guidewire substantially immersed in a storage fluid and allows for a facilitated retrieval of the guidewire. The guidewire holder is generally configured as a shallow pan in a circular shape with an outer periphery to retain the coiled guidewire. The outer periphery includes a concave inner wall and a set of ribs that generally retain the coiled guidewire on the outer periphery. An access area is provided to suspend a portion of the guidewire away from the outer periphery to enable a medical practitioner to reach into the guidewire holder and grasp a portion of the guidewire in order to easily extract the coiled guidewire from the holder. An inner periphery reduces the amount of storage fluid needed to immerse the guidewire and is used in combination with the outer periphery to provide a location for comfortably holding the guidewire holder. Multiple holders may be coupled together so as to be stacked on top of each other.

摘要: An improved catheterization system includes: (i) a catheter system which receives a wire therein; and (ii) a puncture guard that flexibly, resiliently covers a portion of a wire extending from a proximal end of the catheter. Two-part and one-part embodiments of the puncture guard are available. The puncture guard is selectively mounted on a wire and/or onto a catheter through which the wire extends.

摘要: A biopsy collection device may include a filter located distally of an aspiration device to collect a biological sample aspirated from a patient. The biological sample may be accessible to a clinician without the need to expel the sample from the aspiration device. The filter may be disposed in a filter housing that is in fluid communication with the aspiration device and the vasculature of a patient.
