摘要: A modular medical device includes a core module housing. The core module housing includes a treatment module interface configured to couple to any one of a plurality of treatment modules, and each of the plurality of treatment modules includes a treatment assembly configured to apply a medical treatment. The core housing module contains one or more processing devices coupled to the treatment module interface and configured to determine which particular treatment module, from the plurality of treatment modules, is coupled to the treatment module interface. The one or more processing devices are configured to select, based on the determination, a set of control instructions for the particular treatment module from a plurality of control instructions, and control the particular treatment module using the selected control instructions such that the treatment assembly of the particular treatment module applies the medical treatment for which the treatment assembly is configured.

摘要: A substrate suitable for use in a water hardenable orthopaedic splinting bandage is formed from a knitted fabric in which the yarn running along the length of the substrate is from a heat shrinkable yarn so that after heat treatment the substrate is stretchable in the lengthwise direction. The heat shrinkable yarn is suitably a polyester or polyamide and the non-heat shrinkable yarn is suitably a different polyester or polypropylene. Preferably the substrate has a lengthwise extension of not less than 5% and not more than 30%. A water hardenable orthopaedic bandage in which the substrate is impregnated with a water curable resin particularly an isocyanate-containing resin is also described.

摘要: Combination airplane tow bar, platform and step stool structure for use in attending to small aircraft. The platform includes an upper deck member having depending side flanges inset from each side edge thereof with each flange extending beyond the end edge of the deck member and terminating in a rounded apertured end. Leg assemblies are pivoted to the ends of the flanges for movement between a position perpendicular to the deck member for use of the device as a seat, step stool, elevated platform or the like and a position extending longitudinally outwardly of the deck member for use of the device as an airplane tow bar. One of the leg assemblies includes a latch structure for connection with an aircraft to enable the aircraft to be towed. The latch structure may include a spring latch depending on the aircraft attachment. Both leg assemblies can be pivoted into overlying relation to the deck member for compact storage and when folded, the device forms an effective wheel chock for the aircraft.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a water-hardenable orthopedic splinting bandage. The substrate comprises inelastic fibers being incorporated in the substrate in the lengthwise direction. In a preferred substrate, the low modulus fiber is a multifilament polypropylene and the elastic fiber is a polyurethane yarn. Comformable orthopedic bandages employing the substrate are also described.
