摘要: A bottle cap remover includes a pair of axially nested socket sections of different diameters depending axially from a larger-diameter grasping section. Each of the socket sections includes frictional gripping members along their inner walls that are adapted to frictionally engage different sizes and types of metal and plastic bottle caps, thereby to enable the user to twist off and remove the bottle caps by applying a relatively small twisting force to the grasping section.

摘要: A battery charging system (250) for use with an induction charger (210). The battery charging system can include a secondary coil (252) having a plurality of turns for receiving magnetic flux produced by a primary coil (220) of the induction charger, and a control circuit (254) for controlling a number of turns of the secondary coil that are used in generating an output voltage for charging a cell (264). For example, the secondary coil can include a plurality of taps (291, 292, 293, 294), each of the taps providing an electrical connection to the coil at a different point, and thus providing a variety of selectable output voltages.

摘要: A surgical jig for determining an axis extending into the end of a bone (2). The jig comprises a platform (10) arranged to be supported upon a resected surface (4) at an end of a bone (2), first and second clamps (16) and an alignment guide (18). The first and second clamps (16) are coupled to the platform (10) and are arranged to engage first and second portions of a bone lip (6) extending around at least part of the resected surface (4) to secure the platform (10) to the resected surface (4). The alignment guide (18) defines an axis extending into the end of the bone (2), the alignment guide (18) being pivotally coupled to the platform (10). A method of determining an axis extending into the end of a bone (2) using the surgical jig is also disclosed. The method comprises resecting the end of a bone (2) to leave a bone lip (6), coupling the surgical jig to the resected end of the bone (2), and pivoting the alignment guide (18) until the alignment guide (18) coincides with a required axis extending into the end of the bone (2).
