摘要: A system for customizing an implant is provided. The system includes a processor configured to: i) obtain one or more medical image stacks of a joint; ii) obtain a three-dimensional image representation of the joint based on at least one of said medical image stacks; iii) determine damage to the joint by analyzing said medical image stacks; iv) select an implant template from a predefined set of implant templates having predetermined types and sizes; v) generate a 3D model, in which the marked damage is visualized together with the selected implant template in a proposed position; vi) display the 3D model; vii) receive an approval for said selected implant template in said proposed position; and viii) determine the final shape and dimensions of a customized implant based on said selected implant template and said proposed position.

摘要: An apparatus for forming a flowable material against a prosthetic implant can comprise a mold body having an outer surface and an inner surface. The inner surface can define a mold cavity that is selectively configured to at least partially accept the prosthetic implant in a forming position. An inlet port can be configured on the mold cavity that extends between the inner and outer surfaces. The mold cavity can substantially conform to a profile of a bone opposing surface of the prosthetic implant such that a void is created between the inner surface of the mold body and the bone opposing surface of the prosthetic implant. The inlet port can be configured to permit introduction of the flowable material into the void and against the bone opposing surface of the prosthetic implant.

The apparatus and method include a storing the template data and a predetermined portion distance of a predetermined portion of a representation by the template data, a displaying the stored template data, measuring length information of the displayed template data, specifying an error range of the variable magnification of the displayed template data, and judging, based on the measured length information and the stored predetermined portion distance, whether the variable magnification of the displayed template data is within the specified error range.

摘要: A method for constructive modelling of articles including prostheses and anatomical pathology wherein CT scan data is computed to construct a plurality of two dimensional cross sectional images along one axis and the two dimensional image data is computed to create three dimensional coordinate data sets for the articles to be modelled. The three dimensional data sets are then computed to obtained spaced parallel two dimensional image data sets in a second plane of the article and the reconstructed two dimensional image data sets are employed in a constructive modelling process to produce a three dimensional model of the article or part thereof.

摘要: A template assembly is provided for marking locations on the disc annulus for the implantation of an interbody fusion device or the introduction of a working instrument. The template assembly includes a tubular body sized for percutaneous introduction into a patient and advancement to an affected intervertebral disc. An elongated shaft slidably extends through the tubular body and is threadedly engaged to the tubular body at its proximal end so that rotation of the shaft relative to the tubular body advances the shaft through the body. A guide foot is pivotably connected to the distal end of the tubular body to be pivoted from a first position aligned with the tubular body to a second deployed position oriented substantially perpendicular to the tubular body. The guide body is pivoted from the first position to the second position by advancement of the elongated shaft through the tubular body. The guide body in one embodiment defines a bore through which the working tip of an electrocautery instrument extends to mark the disc annulus. In another embodiment, the guide body itself defines an electrocautery projection. The template assembly can be anchored to the affected disc by a guide wire extending through the tubular body and about which the template assembly can be rotated to make an additional mark on the annulus at a predetermined distance from the first mark.

摘要: The present invention relates to a perforation information processing method and device for a bone scaffold model. The method includes: step S1: importing a nonporous-bone-scaffold initial model; step S2: segmenting the nonporous-bone-scaffold initial model into a plurality of unit lattices according to an input signal; and step S3: perforating each of the unit lattices, to obtain a porous bone scaffold model. Compared with the related art, in the present invention, users have great autonomy in design and can completely customize the lattice structure, and the core computation steps can be highly parallelizable, which can greatly reduce the time required for computation.

摘要: A method of manufacturing at least one component of a joint prosthesis, the method comprising creating a first database representing an anatomy of an articulating bone of a joint of a subject; accessing a second database representing a geometry of a generic prosthetic component being sized to fit around an outer articulating surface of the articulating bone of the joint of the subject; creating a third database representing kinematic data of the subject's joint; merging the databases within a three-dimensional image-based medium. The generic prosthetic component is attached to the outer articulating surface of the articulating bone of the joint creating a prosthetic articulating surface that is moved through the kinematic data of the subject through a bearing template thereby modifying the bearing template to create a kinematically appropriate bearing surface; and manufacturing the component of the joint prosthesis to have a geometry corresponding to the kinematically appropriate bearing surface.

摘要: A hip stem centralizer datum guide and method are provided for positioning a proximal portion of a hip stem component within bone cement in an intramedullary canal of a femur. The datum guide is positionable in a predetermined position relative to the intramedullary canal and is able to create a datum that records the predetermined hip stem component position relative to the intramedullary canal. The datum is able to be referenced to position the hip stem component in the predetermined hip stem component position in the bone cement in the intramedullary canal.
