    摘要： The present disclosure relates to apparatus, systems, and methods of use for producing beverages. The apparatus includes components and methods for facilitating beverage production applying water or other liquid in combination with a brewing substance and controlled aeration and pressurization of a mixing vessel or column. The aeration of the water and brewing substance can be accomplished with a vacuum system, a positive pressurization system, and a combination of such systems. The apparatus, systems, and methods can be used with a variety of beverage making devices such as a device which might be used to controllably produce volumes of beverage to a reservoir. The methods include controllable aeration and pressurization of the vessel for brewing which may include controlling extraction time, steep time, active controllable agitation of the brewing substance, as well as other brewing characteristics, features, and actions.

    摘要： The present invention provides multi-component inhibitors of nucleic acid polymerases, methods of making, and methods of using same. One component of the multi-component inhibitor is a molecule that binds to a polymerase (i.e., a polymerase-binding molecule (PBM)), but does not thereby substantially inhibit its polymerase activity. Another component is a molecule or complex of molecules that binds to a PBM (i.e., a PBM-binding molecule). The combination of the PBM and PBM-binding molecule/complex substantially inhibits polymerase activity. The disclosed multi-component inhibitors are useful for DNA sequencing, nucleic acid amplification, cloning and synthesis, and the like.

    摘要： A surface mounted counter flashing system and method is provided for securing and sealing a free end of a roofing material to a wall. A compression plate secures and compressingly seals the free end of a roofing material against the wall surface. The top end of the compression plate defines a first sealing trough for receiving a sealing material. The bottom end of the compression plate includes locking portion for attachment to a counter flashing. The counter flashing includes a mounting surface which is mounted to the wall above compression plate. A covering surface extends out from the mounting surface and encloses the compression plate protecting it from exposure to weather. A locking member is provided on the covering surface which connects and attaches to the compression plate, thus, securing the counter flashing. The top end of the counter flashing defines a second sealing trough for receiving the sealing material. Adjacent counter flashings are installed end-to-end leaving a gap therebetween. A splice plate is attached to the adjacent counter flashings at the second sealing trough and covers the gap. The gap and splice plate allow for movement of the counter flashings. The present invention provides for easy assembly and disassembly of the components and provides for a long lasting seal.
