    摘要: A method for injection of an imaging contrast into a patient, includes: a. in a first phase, injecting a fluid having a first concentration of contrast agent for a first period of time; and b. in a second phase, injecting a fluid having a second concentration of contrast agent for a second period of time. The osmolarity of the second phase is higher than the osmolarity of the first phase. The method can further include: c. in a third phase, subsequent to the second phase, injecting a fluid having a third concentration of contrast agent for a third period of time. The osmolarity of the third phase is lower than the osmolarity of the second phase. In embodiments in which the composition of the contrast agent of the third phase is the same as the composition of the contrast agent of the second phase, the third concentration can be lower than the second concentration.

    摘要: An injection system includes an injector for injecting a fluid into a patient and a controller in operative communication with the injector for control thereof. The controller controls a diagnostic injection of the fluid based upon at least one mathematical model individualized to the patient. The model(s) are determined by collecting data corresponding to a time response curve resulting from at least one test injection of the fluid into the patient. The time response curve represents a response of a region of interest of the patient over time due to the fluid passing therethrough. An imaging system having such an injection system is also disclosed, as is a system for effecting a medical procedure. A method of delivering such a fluid to a patient using such an injection system is also disclosed, as is a method of modeling propagation of such a fluid in a patient.

    摘要: A method of determining at least one parameter for an imaging procedure including the injection of a contrast enhancement fluid which includes a contrast enhancing agent, includes: substituting into a model discrete point data determined from at least one contrast time enhancement curve measured using an imaging system for a first region of interest resulting from injection of a bolus of the contrast enhancement fluid. In several embodiments, a sufficient number of data points can be substituted into the model to determine values for physiological variables in the model. The variables can, for example, be related to cardiopulmonary function. At least one data point from at least a second contrast time enhancement curve for a second region of interest measured using the imaging system can also substituted into the model.

    摘要: An injection system includes a fluid delivery system, a drive mechanism, a controller and a tubing set. The fluid delivery system includes a fluid container and a pumping mechanism having an inlet in fluid connection with the fluid container and an outlet. The tubing set is adapted to be placed in removable fluid connection with the outlet of the pumping mechanism and a patient. The drive mechanism is in operative connection with the pumping mechanism to pump fluid from the fluid container. First and second information stores, such as bar codes or RFID tags, are associated with the pumping mechanism and the tubing set, respectively. The controller is in operative connection with the drive mechanism and adapted to read the first information store and the second information store to at least partly control the operation of the drive mechanism based thereon.
