摘要： A system and method are described involving the use of a cell delivery catheter that incorporates a stimulating electrode to promote vasodilation prior to injection of cells at a target location within a blood vessel. The vasodilation may be produced locally and/or distally from the target location near the target organ. The technique may be applied not only to intra-coronary injection of cells to treat heart disease but to injection of cells in any blood vessel that feeds a target organ.

摘要： An exercise equipment pack is adapted to assist a user in performing one or more exercises. The equipment pack includes a base frame. The base frame includes: a front substantially-cylindrical canister portion, formed integrally with the base frame and projecting therefrom; a rear substantially-cylindrical canister portion, formed integrally with the base frame, and projecting therefrom in a direction opposite from the front canister portion; and a common wall, formed integrally with the base frame and forming a common inner base surface for both the front canister portion and the rear canister portion, the common wall having an opening. The front canister portion, the rear canister portion and the common wall together forming a cylindrical storage area divided by the common wall, the cylindrical storage area being adapted to securely maintain one or more weights on each side of the common wall.

摘要： A thin film of white blood cells is irradiated with ultraviolet radiation predominately of a wavelength of 280 to 320 nanometers, and preferably at an intensity of 4 to 15 milliwatts per square cm. At such a radiation intensity it is not necessary to agitate the thin film of white blood cells to accomplish the purposes of this invention. The white blood cells so processed substantially lose their capability to set off an immune reaction in an alloimmunized patient. The white blood cells may preferably be placed into such film in a flat, flexible bag made of poly(ethylene-vinyl acetate) plastic, with the flat, flexible bag being stretched in a direction normal to the path of ultraviolet radiation.

The method comprises allowing output pressure of the pump to decrease over time t1, increasing output pressure of the pump over time t2, comparing achieved pump output pressure to a predetermined pressure at about the end of interval f, and at least one of (i) adjusting t1 and t2 if necessary so the predetermined pressure is approximated by the output pressure at the end of the next interval f, and (ii) adjusting a rate of change of the output pressure during at least one of t1 and t2 if necessary so the predetermined pressure is approximated by the output pressure at the end of the next interval f.
