    摘要: A CDMA communication system includes a signal processor which encodes voice and nonvoice signals into data at various rates, e.g. data rates of 8 kbps, 16 kbps, 32 kbps, or 64 kbps as I and Q signals. The signal processor selects a specific data rate depending upon the type of signal, or in response to a set data rate. When the signal is received and demodulated, the baseband signal is at the chip level. Both the I and Q components of the signal are despread using the conjugate of the pn sequence used during spreading, returning the signal to the symbol level. Carrier offset correction is performed at the symbol level. A lower overall processing speed is therefore required.

    摘要: A plurality of data streams are convolutionally encoded. Each convolutionally encoded data stream has a particular data rate. The particular data rate of each data stream is adjusted so that an adjusted data rate of that data stream matches a data rate of a CDMA transmission. When the particular data rate of one of the data streams is below the data rate of the CDMA transmission, data of the one data stream is repeated to match the data rate of the CDMA transmission. The adjusted data rate data streams is transmitted as the CDMA transmission. The adjusted data streams are transmitted together in the CDMA transmission and the CDMA transmission is quadrature modulated.

    摘要: A subscriber unit of a time division multiple access (TDMA) radiotelephone system is, from a power consumption standpoint, reconfigured in each time slot of a TDMA frame to a power consumption tessellation in which subscriber unit circuit components not needed for communication signal processing in that time slot are powered down, and other components are powered up. Some circuit components are powered down by switching their power supply circuits. In order to minimize the extent of circuitry that must be provided to distribute power consumption control signals, other techniques (which utilize circuitry provided for other purposes), such as clock frequency control or power down commands, also are utilized to modify controlled circuit component power consumption without actually controlling power supply circuits. Loop connection length between the subscriber unit and the subscriber's telephone set, or other terminal equipment, is limited to a length which is much less than the length of a radio link on which the subscriber unit operates. Programmable ring frequency logic controls the frequency of a ringing signal generator, and a high frequency ring control signal is switched on and off in the cadence of ringing operation. Also an expansion header is provided to enable serving plural subscriber loop circuits with the same radio equipment for reducing per line power consumption.

    摘要: In a system having a received PN clock signal, a method is disclosed for providing a synchronized system clock signal having reduced jitter wherein the synchronized system clock signal is synchronized with the received PN clock signal. The method includes providing a stable high frequency reference signal and dividing the high frequency reference signal to provide a system clock signal having a plurality of system clock phases. The method also includes adjustably selecting a system clock phase of the plurality of system clock phases in accordance with the received PN signal in order to provide the synchronized system clock signal. The received PN clock signal is recovered by providing PN phase adjustments of the received PN clock signal. A tracking control signal is provided in accordance with the PN phase adjustments and the system clock phase is adjustably selected in accordance with the tracking control signal. The high frequency reference signal can be multiplied prior to the dividing.
