    摘要: Disclosed herein are heat-activatable adhesive compositions comprising a water-soluble condensation polymer which is characterized by having a glycol component comprising one or more diols, preferably one of which is 1,4-bis(2-hydroxyethoxy)cyclohexane; and an acid component comprising greater than 15 and up to about 35 mole percent of at least one diacid or diester monomer having an iminodisulfonyl salt moiety, and from about 65 to about 85 mole percent of one or more other diacids or diesters. These adhesives are further characterized as having high bonding strengths at temperatures above 50.degree. C. They have been found useful in a variety of photographic materials, and particularly in image transfer film units.

    摘要: Polymeric photoconductors are disclosed comprising a condensation polymer backbone containing, as repeating units, the condensation residues of (1) a diacid, and (2) an organic difunctional compound capable of undergoing condensation polymerization with said diacid, and an arylamine photoconductor group appended to at least one of said diacid or said organic difunctional compound residues.A preferred polymeric photoconductor is ionic and comprises a condensation copolymer containing, in addition to the above described repeating units, the condensation residue of a second diacid containing an anionic iminodisulfonyl or sulfo group. In certain embodiments, the ionic arylamine-containing polymers are water-dispersible copolyesters.The polymeric photoconductors described are useful in photoconductive compositions and elements. Electrophotographic processes employing such elements are also disclosed.

    摘要: Disclosed herein are heat-activatable adhesive compositions containing a water-dispersible polyester which comprisesA. an acid component comprising:(1) from about 8 to about 16 mole percent of units derived from at least one dicarboxylic acid having an ionic iminosulfonyl moiety containing a monovalent cation as an imino nitrogen substituent;(2) from about 40 to about 70 mole percent of units derived from at least one dicarboxylic acid selected from the group consisting of aliphatic dicarboxylic acids having the formula HOOC--(CH.sub.2).sub.n --COOH wherein n is an integer from 2 to 12, cycloaliphatic dicarboxylic acids having from 6 to 12 carbon atoms, and aromatic dicarboxylic acids having from 6 to 12 carbon atoms;(3) from about 5 to about 20 mole percent of units derived from the dicarboxylic acid having the formula ##STR1## (4) from about 5 to about 25 mole percent of units derived from at least one dicarboxylic acid having the formula ##STR2## wherein Z is carbonylimino or iminocarbonyl and m is an integer from 6 to 10; andB. a diol component consisting essentially of(1) at least 50 mole percent of units derived from at least one diol having a formula selected from the group consisting of: ##STR3## wherein p is an integer from 1 to 4, andHO--(RO).sub.q --H (II) wherein q is an integer from 2 to 4; and R is an alkylene group having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms; and(2) from 0 to 50 mole percent of units derived from at least one diol having the formula:HO--R'--OH wherein R' is an alkylene group having up to 16 carbon atoms, cycloalkylene having from 6 to 20 carbon atoms, cycloalkylenebisalkylene having from 8 to 20 carbon atoms, or arylenebisalkylene having from 8 to 20 carbon atomswith the proviso that said diol component (1), selected from the group consisting of (I) and (II), must comprise at least 90 mole percent of the diol component when said acid component (1), having an ionic iminosulfonyl moiety, comprises less than 10 mole percent of said acid component.These adhesives have been found useful in a variety of photographic materials, and particularly in image transfer film units. Their adhesive strength is further characterized as being insensitive to variations in relative humidity and, after being dried, to the presence of aqueous processing compositions.
