    摘要: A method of manufacturing a cured, non-reinforced hose exhibiting one or more desirable configuration features molded onto the outer surface of the hose; and a cured, non-reinforced hose exhibiting such desirable configuration features molded on the outer surface thereof, manufactured in accordance with such method are described. The method comprises: providing a raw, non-reinforced polymeric tubular structure having an outer surface, an inner surface, an orifice, and a cylindrical channel extending longitudinally throughout the raw tubular structure defining the inner surface of the raw polymeric tubular structure; providing a mold apparatus having a cavity configuration corresponding to the shape and size of a desired cured, non-reinforced hose; inserting the raw polymeric tubular structure into the cavity configuration of the mold apparatus; inserting a first plug means having an aperture therethrough into a first end of the raw polymeric tubular structure; inserting a second plug means having an aperture therethrough into a second end of the raw polymeric tubular structure; providing a source of steam under elevated pressure to cure the raw polymeric tubular structure, wherein the first plug means having an aperture therethrough serves as an inlet for the steam and the second plug having an aperture therethrough serves as an outlet for the steam; and recovering a cured, non-reinforced hose having an inner surface and an outer surface, wherein the outer surface exhibits one or more desirable characteristic features molded onto the outer surface of the cured, non-reinforced hose.

    摘要: An adjustable apparatus for sizing objects, mainly delicate foods, by the rotation of a set of at least 7 rollers, each roller having one less tooth so that the rollers move at progressively higher revolutions per minute, from the in-feed shear roller of 144 revolutions per minute to the discharge roller of 210 revolutions per minute. The rollers are shaped and finished by 7 to 12 flats, alternated with a crown in between each flat, cut the horizontal length of the roller. The rollers are then sandblasted over the entire circumference of the surface to a depth range of 280 to 300 micro-inches.

    摘要: A method for manufacturing a multilayer hose having reduced permeation of hydrocarbon fuel vapor, wherein the multilayer hose is useful as a hydrocarbon fuel transport hose, comprises the steps of: extruding a first fluoroelastomeric tubular structure having an inner surface and an outer surface; applying an adhesive on the outer surface of the first fluoroelastomeric tubular structure, wherein the adhesive is applied to the outer surface of the first fluoroelastomeric tubular structure using piezo electric technology comprising a piezo element disposed in an adhesive reservoir positioned at an exit end of an extruder for extruding the first fluoroelastomeric tubular structure. The adhesive reservoir comprising a plurality of nozzles equally spaced apart around the exit end of the extruder through which adhesive is discharged onto the surface of the first fluoroelastomeric tubular structure in a precise and uniform manner as the first fluoroelastomeric tubular structure exits the end of the extruder, the discharge of the adhesive being activated by application of an electric current applied to the piezo element causing the piezo element to rapidly oscillate in a precise and uniform manner causing the adhesive to be repeatedly discharged through the plurality of nozzles in a pulsating manner, whereby the adhesive is uniformly applied to the outer surface of the first fluoroelastomeric tubular structure; and extruding a second fluoroplastic tubular structure onto the first fluoroelastomeric tubular structure such that the adhesive is disposed between the first fluoroelastomeric tubular structure and the second fluoroplastic tubular structure.

    摘要: A fuel filler and fuel vent hose having reduced fuel permeation, comprises an elastomeric inner layer, a fluoropolymer barrier layer formed from tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene-vinylidene fluoride terpolymer; tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene-vinylidene fluoride-perfluorovinyl ether quadpolymer; or blends of two or more tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene-vinylidene fluoride copolymers or terpolymers on the elastomeric inner layer, and a chlorinated polyethylene backing layer. Optionally, the fuel filler and fuel vent hose include an adhesive layer between the fluoropolymer barrier layer, and the chlorinated polyethylene backing layer, and an optional reinforcement layer as well as an additional outer cover layer. A method of forming such tubular structures is also included.
