摘要： In accordance with this invention a diffusion transfer process is provided for forming a color photographic image comprising the steps of: (a) using an integral element comprising one and only one dimensionally stable layer comprising a coating support, and coated thereon in reactive association a mordant layer comprising a material which binds a diffusible dye, an imaging layer comprising radiation sensitive silver halide, a diffusible dye forming layer comprising a diffusible dye forming compound, and a barrier layer overlaying said diffusible dye forming layer, wherein said support is selected from the group consisting of reflection base and transparent base materials, wherein said diffusible dye forming layer is the same or different than said imaging layer, wherein said barrier layer comprises a polymer that allows the passage of solutions for processing said element when said element is contacted with an external processing bath, and wherein said barrier layer impedes the diffusion out of said element of the diffusible dye formed from said diffusible dye forming compound; (b) exposing said element to actinic radiation; (c) processing said element by contacting said element to an external bath containing compounds selected from the group consisting of conventional color developer compounds of the primary amine type, compounds which activate the release of incorporated color developers, and compounds which activate development by incorporated dye developers; (d) washing said element to remove compounds imbibed in step (c). In a preferred embodiment said integral element further comprises a stripping layer coated intermediate the mordant layer and dye forming layer. In another preferred embodiment said process further comprises the step of stripping said mordant and support from said diffusible dye forming layer.

摘要： A process is disclosed for forming a color photographic image comprising the steps of:(a) providing an integral element comprising one and only one dimensionally stable layer comprising a reflection base or transparent base coating support, and coated thereon in reactive association an imaging layer comprising radiation sensitive silver halide, a diffusible dye forming layer comprising a diffusible dye forming compound, and a barrier layer overlaying said diffusible dye forming layer;(b) exposing this integral element to actinic radiation(c) processing this integral element by contacting this element to an external bath containing compounds selected from the group consisting of color developer compounds, compounds which activate the release of incorporated color developers, and compounds which activate development by incorporated dye developers; and(d) washing this integral element to remove compounds imbibed in step (c). The diffusible dye forming layer is the same or different than the imaging layer. The barrier layer comprises a polymer that allows the passage of solutions for processing this integral element when this element is contacted with an external processing bath. This barrier layer impedes the diffusion of the diffusible dye formed from the diffusible-dye forming compound out of this integral element.

摘要： In accordance with this invention a photographic color diffusion transfer element is provided wherein said element comprises a single dimensionally stable transparent support and coated thereon in reactive association and in sequence (1) a mordant layer for binding diffusible dyes, (2) a light reflecting layer, (3) imaging layers comprising a radiation sensitive layer comprising silver halide and a diffusible dye forming layer comprising a diffusible dye forming compound, and (4) a barrier layer comprising a polymer that allows the passage of solutions for processing said element when said element is contacted with an external processing bath, and wherein said barrier layer impedes the diffusion out of said element of the diffusible dye formed from said diffusible dye forming compound. In another preferred embodiment, the sequential arrangement of layers next to the support is in the order: (1) imaging layers comprising a radiation sensitive layer comprising silver halide and a diffusible dye forming layer comprising a diffusible dye forming compound, ( 2) a light reflecting layer, (3) a mordant layer for binding diffusible dyes, (4) a barrier layer comprising a polymer that allows the passage of solutions for processing said element when said element is contacted with an external processing bath, and wherein said barrier layer impedes the diffusion out of said element of the diffusible dye formed from said diffusible dye forming compound.

摘要： Methods and compositions are provided for hardening with fast-acting hardeners the colloidal carrier materials, such as gelatin, in the layers of photographic materials, such as photographic film. The methods of the invention comprise coating, with a conventional coating technique, among the layers of a photographic material a layer of a composition of the invention. The compositions of the invention are aqueous solutions which comprise a fast-acting hardener and a polymeric thickener, have concentrations of thickener less than about 50 mg/cm.sup.3 and, at 40.degree. C. and shear rates between about 1000 sec.sup.-1 and 10,000 sec.sup.-1, have viscosities from about 5 cp to about 20 cp and power law indices greater than about 0.90.
