摘要： An electrical connector for a flat cable having alternate signal and ground conductors. The connector comprises a housing containing a row of contacts therein each having an insulation piercing, core penetrating section. A mandrel is mounted on the housing forcing the signal conductors of the cable into the termination sections of the contacts. The ground conductors of the cable lie across the top of the housing and a ground buss bar having a plurality of insulation piercing, core penetrating jaws is forced down upon the ground conductors to electrically interconnect the same. The ends of the ground buss bar engage the contacts at the ends of the row of contacts in the connector housing.

摘要： An electrical connector for interconnecting conductive traces on a pair of electronic components, such as a display panel and logic circuit used in a digital wristwatch. The connector comprises an elongated insulative member having a flexible dielectric tape mounted on one side. A plurality of spring conductive strips are bonded on said tape. The strips have upper and lower portions which interconnect the traces on the electronic components.

摘要： A connector for an IC memory card having a printed circuit member mounted within the housing of the card which extends into a slot opening at the edge of the card. The connector contains two rows of contacts which are engageable with conductive traces on the opposite sides of the printed circuit member when the card is inserted into the connector. The contacts in the connector are reversely bent to form inner arms joined to outer arms by nose portions. The inner arms of the contacts in the two rows are normally spaced apart a distance greater than the thickness of the printed circuit member so that when the card is initially inserted into the connector, the noses of the contacts will pass freely over the border of the printed circuit member. Thereafter, the sidewalls of the housing of the card cam the outer arms of the contacts inwardly, forcing the inner arms into engagement with the traces on the printed circuit member in the card.

摘要： A cable assembly and construction method to enable a cable to be pulled lengthwise in a conduit or otherwise, wherein a perforate plate is placed among insulated wires in a bundle emanating from one end of the cable jacket or sheath. The wires are bonded to each other and to the plate by potting. An epoxy or resin may be used, if desired. Alternatively a paraffin potting step may be employed to provide a base for a resin, a paraffin block being potted between the jacket and the resin.

摘要： An electrical connector in which two rows of resilient contacts are mounted in a connector housing on opposite sides of a slot which is adapted to receive a printed circuit board or similar electrical component therein. The end portion of the spring contacting section of each contact is reversely bent in a direction away from the slot. A vertically movable contact shifting element is disposed between the spring contacting sections and the reversely bent end portions of the contacts in each row of contacts. A cam actuator is operated to move the contact shifting elements upwardly against the reverse bent end portions of the contacts thereby deflecting the spring contacting sections away from the slot so that a printed circuit board may be inserted therein with zero insertion force. Means is also disclosed for providing a wiping action between the contacts and the traces on the printed circuit board when the contacts are actuated to engage the board. The contacts are frictionally retained in the connector housing, and are provided with upwardly facing shoulders which allows a tool to be inserted through the slot in the housing to engage the contacts directly to press-fit the contacts into holes in a substrate underlying the housing. The contacts and connector housing are designed so that the contacts may be individually removed from the top of the housing.

摘要： A zero insertion force socket for connecting the leads of an integrated circuit carrier to conductors on a printed circuit board. The socket contains a movable actuator which shifts the contacts in the socket into engagement with the leads on the carrier after the leads have been initially inserted into the socket in positions spaced from the contacts. The actuator comprises a partitioning structure made of interleaved thin metal strips which allow a very dense arrangement of the contacts in the socket and also perform an electrical shielding function.

摘要： A quick detachable coupling for use on electrical connectors or the like in which the plug has a latching tab formed on a resilient arm. The tab engages a latching shoulder formed in a recess in the receptacle of the coupling when the plug and receptacle are mated. A live hinge member on the housing of the receptacle is actuated to push the latching tab on the resilient arm out from the latching shoulder into a release slot which allows the plug to be slidably disengaged from the receptacle.
