    摘要: In a hydrogen sensor (10a, 10b, 10c, 10d), a thin film layer (12) is formed over a substrate (11) and a buffer layer (13) is formed over the thin film layer (12). Further, over the buffer layer (13) is formed a catalyst layer (14) which, by being contacted by hydrogen gas, hydrogenates the thin film layer (12), thereby changing optical reflectance of the thin film layer (12). A constituent of the thin film layer (12) diffusing into the catalyst layer (14) combines with a constituent that has diffused from the buffer layer (13) into the catalyst layer (14), so that oxidation of the catalyst film layer (14) is prevented. Consequently, oxidation of the catalyst layer (14), etc. caused by repetition of hydrogenation of the thin film layer (12) is prevented, and therefore, decrease in hydrogen detection sensitivity of the hydrogen sensor (10a, 10b, 10c, 10d) is restrained.

A diffuse reflection type photochromic element has a transparent thin film having surface irregularities formed on a transparent base and a reflective photochromic thin film layer having surface irregularities formed on that transparent thin film. A diffuse reflection type photochromic glass material includes the aforementioned diffuse reflection type photochromic element as a constituent unit. A method for manufacturing a diffuse reflection type photochromic unit includes the steps of forming a transparent thin film having surface irregularities integrally or separately on a transparent base and forming a reflective photochromic thin film layer having surface irregularities on that transparent thin film.

    摘要: A gasochromic system includes a first transparent part that includes a first surface; a second transparent part that includes a second surface and is disposed such that the second surface faces the first surface of the first transparent part; a light control part that is formed on the first surface and includes a light control element whose optical characteristic is reversibly changed by hydrogenation and dehydrogenation; a hydrogen supplier that supplies a hydrogen-containing gas into a gap between the first and second transparent parts; and a dehydrogenator that removes hydrogen from the gap between the first and second transparent parts. The first and second transparent parts are stacked via the light control part, and the second surface and a surface of the light control part facing the second surface are partially in contact with each other.
