Abstract: The present invention relates to a recombinant microorganism having enhanced ability to produce lutein and a method of producing lutein using the same, and more specifically, to a recombinant microorganism having enhanced ability to produce lutein, which is obtained by modifying any one or more metabolic pathways, selected from the group consisting of a substrate tunnel, an electron tunnel, and a C5 heme production pathway, in a host cell having ability to produce lutein. Using the highly efficient lutein-producing recombinant microbial strain according to the present invention, it is possible to replace an existing lutein production method that relies on labor-intensive and inefficient plant extraction and to produce lutein in a more environmentally friendly and sustainable way. In addition, the strain development strategy used in the present invention is useful because it may be used to construct a recombinant strain for the efficient production of useful compounds with complex metabolic pathways and to establish an efficient production method, and it may be applied throughout the gradually expanding biochemical market.

Abstract: The present invention relates to recombinant Corynebacterium having 1,3-PDO productivity and reduced 3-HP productivity, and a method for producing 1,3-PDO by using same. When a Corynebacterium glutamicum variant according to the present invention is used, the productivity of 3-HP, which is a by-product, is inhibited by using low-cost glycerol as a carbon source, and thus 1,3-PDO can be produced with high efficiency.

Abstract: Disclosed is a recombinant microorganism capable of growing using only carbon dioxide and formic acid by introducing and improving a metabolic pathway for synthesizing pyruvic acid from carbon dioxide and formic acid to enhance pyruvic acid synthesis efficiency and performing additional genetic manipulation, and a method for producing useful substances using the same. Advantageously, the recombinant microorganism is capable of synthesizing pyruvic acid, a C3 organic compound, at a remarkably improved rate, and in particular, grows well even in a medium containing only carbon dioxide and formic acid as carbon sources without a glucose supply, and is thereby capable of synthesizing pyruvic acid and various high value-added compounds using the same as an intermediate product in an economically efficient manner.

Abstract: A method of preparing a food composition for an egg fluid substitute or for a milk substitute is described, including a step of lysing microorganisms, and corresponding food compositions prepared by such method. The egg fluid substitute or milk substitute changes into a gel having properties similar to egg fluid when heated and exhibits excellent foaming performance, and can replace egg fluid in a wide range of food applications, including confectionery and baking. The described method enables the production of an egg fluid substitute or milk substitute in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner, and provides a method for utilizing nutritionally valuable microorganisms as an egg fluid substitute or a milk substitute, as well as contributing to the food industry by expanding the choice of food ingredients.

Abstract: Synthetic sRNA for inhibiting prokaryote gene expression is described, which includes (i) an Hfq binding site and (ii) a region that forms a complementary bond with a target gene mRNA.
