Abstract:
In a fault management system, each of one or more image forming apparatuses includes an agent unit that transmits, upon occurrence of a fault, a notice that the fault has occurred and service call information indicative of details of the fault to a fault management server. The fault management server includes a manager unit that transmits a reboot command to the agent unit of the image forming apparatus in which the fault has occurred, upon reception of the notice and the service call information from the agent unit of the image forming apparatus in which the fault has occurred. The agent unit of the image forming apparatus in which the fault has occurred reboots the image forming apparatus in which the fault has occurred, according to the reboot command.
Abstract:
An operation input apparatus includes an imaging portion, an apparatus identifying portion, a recognizing portion, a display portion, and an operation input portion. The imaging portion is configured to be able to image an image forming apparatus installed in an installation location. The apparatus identifying portion identifies the image forming apparatus imaged by the imaging portion, based on specific identification information. The recognizing portion recognizes, by image recognition, the imaged image forming apparatus, according to the identification by the apparatus identifying portion. The display portion adds selection enabling information that enables a selection operation to the imaged image forming apparatus, based on the image recognition by the recognizing portion, and displays the image forming apparatus with the selection enabling information on a screen. The operation input portion receives an operation input to the image forming apparatus, according to a selection operation performed on the image forming apparatus on the screen.
Abstract:
An authentication system includes one or more portable terminals and an electronic device. The electronic device includes a storage section, a terminal location acquiring section, a determining section, an authentication section, and a right granting section. The storage section stores authentication information of each of one or more users, usage right information of each user, and location information of the electronic device. The terminal location acquiring section acquires location information of each portable terminal. The determining section determines a first portable terminal that is located within a specific authentication distance from the electronic device, based on the location information. The authentication section performs authentication of a first user associated with the first portable terminal, based on the authentication information of the first user. The right granting section permits the first user to use the electronic device within a scope of usage right granted to the first user.
Abstract:
A remote maintenance system includes: a remote maintenance server; and one or more image forming apparatuses, the server including an operation input unit, a display unit, a storage unit that stores panel programs, a communication unit, an image forming apparatus database in which functions are registered, and a manager circuit that acquires, when a serviceman instructs restoration, the panel program to be restored from the storage unit, analyzes which of the functions is to be invoked by the panel program, compares, by referencing the database, the function of the restore-destination apparatus and the function to be invoked, and determines whether the restore-destination apparatus executes the panel program, and instructs the restore-destination apparatus to restore the panel program when it executes the panel program, each image forming apparatus restoring, when receiving a restore instruction, the panel program based on the instruction.
Abstract:
A mobile device receives a latest version of firmware with a firmware management system that manages firmware and receives a current version of firmware in an image forming apparatus through close-range communication with the image forming apparatus. The mobile device determines whether or not a later version than the current version of firmware in the image forming apparatus exists based on the latest version of firmware and the current version of firmware that are received.
Abstract:
An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus and a server. The image forming apparatus transmits to the server image data representing an image. The image is read by the reading device from the recording medium on which the print device prints the image, in response to an instruction to print at the origin of the print area. The server acquires, from the image data transmitted from the image forming apparatus, a printing-complete reference position, as a position where the recording-medium origin is made a reference, in a location printed on the recording medium by the image forming apparatus in response to an instruction to execute printing at the print-area origin, and acquires the displacement as a difference between the acquired printing-complete reference position and the print reference position stored in the storage device.
Abstract:
An electronic apparatus includes: a communication interface configured to communicate with a server apparatus based on one of a first communication protocol and a second communication protocol; and a controller circuit configured to control the communication interface to start communication with the server apparatus based on the first communication protocol, and to confirm whether or not the server apparatus has a schedule of execution of remote maintenance after start of the communication, if the communication interface receives remote maintenance execution schedule information from the server apparatus, control the communication interface to start communication with the server apparatus based on the second communication protocol, and execute the remote maintenance based on information received from the server apparatus via the communication based on the second communication protocol.
Abstract:
A management system includes a management server and one or more image forming apparatuses. The management server includes an operation input unit, a display, a first communication unit, a storage unit, and a manager unit. The manager unit, when the administrator instructs a set value change of a setting item for a specific image forming apparatus, determines which set value management group includes the image forming apparatus to which the change has been instructed, refers to a reflection-range table of a set value management group including the image forming apparatus to which the change has been instructed, determines which image forming apparatus among other image forming apparatuses executes the set value change based on the reference result, and instructs the other determined image forming apparatus to change the set value.
