摘要: A method and system for reducing fault analysis times in a network having a plurality of pollable objects. Poll responses are received from pollable objects, priorities are assigned to each received poll response in accordance with one or more of a received poll response value, a pollable object status and a type of pollable object, and the assigned priorities are processed and to determine any fault locations, wherein a pollable object with a higher priority is processed before a second pollable object with a lower priority. A status manager is operable to receive poll responses from one or more of the pollable objects, a status analyzer is operable to assign, in conjunction with one or more analyzers, priorities to each received poll response in accordance with the received poll response value, a pollable object status and a type of pollable object, and analyzers coupled the status analyzer use the assigned priorities and the corresponding received poll responses to determine a fault location.

摘要: A nestable container which is constructed so that when formed into a stack the ribs formed in the outer surface of one container rest on an inner shoulder of the container below it in the stack, the angle of inclination of the ribs being the same as the angle of inclination of the inner surface of the side wall portion which it abuts of the container below it in the stack, and the outer surface of one container adjacent to the base engaging the inner surface of the side wall portion of the container below it in the stack to form a powder seal. The cups when nested together to form a stack are freely rotatable one inside the other.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a resilient rail clip comprises bending a rod, made of metal having a hardness value falling within a known hardness value range, into a predetermined shape and then subjecting the bent rod to a cold setting process in order to induce in the bent rod a predetermined amount of permanent set (S). One cold setting process comprises applying a first load (F0) to part of the bent rod so as to cause a first amount of deflection of that part of the bent rod, which first load (F0) is a predetermined load having a value equal to or greater than that required to reach the yield point of metal having the highest hardness value in the said hardness value range, measuring the first amount of deflection (dX) of the said part of the bent rod achieved by applying the predetermined first load (F0), determining, on the basis of the measured deflection amount (dX), either (i) a second load (F0+ΔFX), which, when applied to the said part of the bent rod, will cause the bent rod to acquire the predetermined amount of permanent set (S), or (ii) a second amount of deflection (dX+ΔdX) of the said part of the bent rod required in order to bring about in the bent rod the predetermined amount of permanent set (S), and applying the second load (F0+ΔFX) to the said part of the bent rod or deflecting the said part of the bent rod by the determined second amount of deflection (dX+ΔdX). An alternative cold setting process comprises deflecting part of the bent rod by a predetermined first amount (d0) by applying a first load (FX) having a value equal to or greater than that required to reach the yield point of metal having the highest hardness value in the said hardness value range, measuring the amount of the first load (FX) required to achieve the predetermined first amount of deflection (d0), determining, on the basis of the measured load, either (i) a second deflection amount (d0+ΔdX) required in order to bring about in the bent rod the predetermined amount of permanent set (S), or (ii) a second load (FX+ΔFX), which, when applied to the said part of the bent rod, will cause the bent rod to acquire the predetermined amount of permanent set (S), and deflecting the said part of the bent rod by the determined second deflection amount (d0+ΔdX) or applying the determined second load (FX+ΔFX) to the said part of the bent rod.

摘要: A wound paperboard tube having enhanced burst strength in high-moisture conditions up to and including complete and prolonged submersion in liquid water comprises a plurality of paperboard plies formed from a pulp comprising papermaking furnish and an effective amount of a size such that the paperboard plies have reduced moisture add-on when submerged in water, relative to paperboard plies formed from a pulp comprising the identical furnish but without the size. The plies are wound one upon another about an axis of the tube and adhered together with a water-resistant adhesive comprising a polyvinyl composition containing a cross-linking agent for inducing cross-linking of the adhesive.

摘要: A test device includes a stationary web roll support assembly comprising a base and a pair of core supports spaced apart and affixed to the base with the core supports projecting upwardly from the base, the core supports structured and arranged to engage opposite ends of a core of a web roll so as to support the web roll. The test device also includes a movable weight load simulating assembly comprising a flexible belt having opposite ends, and a belt holder structured and arranged to secure the opposite ends of the belt to the belt holder with the belt forming a generally U-shaped loop about an outer surface of the web roll intermediate the opposite ends of the core. Movement of the belt holder away from the stationary web roll support assembly causes the belt to exert a load on the web roll, simulating weight load on the core and core supports.

摘要: The invention provides a valve for dispensing material from a hopper. The valve comprises a body defining a passage way, a generally L-shaped valve member pivotally mounted to one side of the passageway such that the inner faces of the arms of the valve member can engage respective ones of a pair of spaced back to back valve seats disposed in the passageway so that in use with the downstream of the two arms closing the passageway by engaging the downstream valve seat a charge of material in the hopper can be received between the two arms and dispensed when the valve member is rotated to open the passageway by the downstream arm and subsequently close it by the upstream arm engaging the upstream valve seat, flow through the passageway being substantially obstructed by the upstream arm as the valve member is returend to close the passageway by the downstream arm.

摘要: In a railway sleeper assembly, a pair of rail insulators (3) designed for use with a steel railway sleeper (1) which includes at the opposite sides of each intended rail location thereon a pair of openings (6) for receiving the respective stems (8) of a pair of shoulders (4), are each operatively disposed, when in use, between a foot of the rail (2) and the respective proximate shoulder (4). Each insulator (3) includes a member (11) which, when the insulator is in use, operatively extends below a top surface of the sleeper (1) and into the associated opening (6) so as to lie between the walls of that opening (6) and the stem (8) of the associated shoulder (4), thereby to retain the shoulder (4) in its operative position relative to the sleeper. The insulators (3), the shoulders (4) and a pair of rail clips (5) are preloaded onto, and are preassembled with, the sleeper (1) at a location remote from the track site, such that the entire assembly, with the rail clips (5) mounted in a preload position on the shoulders (4), can then be transported as a unit to the track site while the various components are retained on the sleeper (1) in their operative positions and are secure against falling off the sleeper (1) during transit of the assembly to the track site.
