摘要: A process for production of a polyester comprising units of ethylene terephthalate as the major repeating units by supplying terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol continuously or intermittently to bis(beta-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate or its oligomer so as to carry out esterification under a pressure of not more than about 1.0 kg/cm.sup.2, followed by polycondensation, which is characterized in that at least one magnesium compound is incorporated into the reaction system in an amount of about 30 to 400 ppm in terms of Mg to the polyester when the esterification rate in the step of esterification reaches about 20-80% and at least one phosphorus compound is incorporated into the reaction system in an amount as satisfying the following equation (I) at the stage after the esterification rate reaches not less than about 91% and before the termination of the initial condensation in the step of esterification:1.2.ltoreq.Mg/P.ltoreq.20 (I)wherein Mg/P is the atomic ratio of the magnesium atom to the phosphorus atom. The produced polyester shows a high electrostatic adherence.

摘要: An optical pickup includes a lens holder; an objective lens provided on the lens holder and having an effective region for collecting light from a light source and an edge located outer to the effective region; and a lens protector provided on the lens holder. The lens protector protrudes toward an optical disc more than the objective lens. The edge of the objective lens includes a convexed portion protruding toward the optical disc. An apex of the effective region of the objective lens protrudes toward the optical disc more than the convexed portion of the edge. A straight line connecting a part of the edge of the objective lens and a part of the lens protector is closer to the optical disc than the apex of the effective region of the objective lens.

摘要: A semiconductor laser; a light flux separation element that separates a light flux emitted from the semiconductor laser for a first light flux and a second light flux to come out therefrom; an objective lens on which the first light flux coming out from the light flux separation element is incident to be collected on a optical information recording medium; a light-receiving element on which the second light flux coming out from the light flux separation element is incident; an arithmetic circuit that adjusts a quantity of light emitted from the light source in response to a quantity of light incident on the light-receiving element, are provided. A light exiting-surface of the light flux separation element from which the second light flux comes out is laminated to a light incident-surface of the light-receiving element on which the second light flux is incident via an adhesive layer. It is thus possible to adjust a quantity of light at a higher degree of accuracy and higher sensitivity while achieving a significant reduction of the optical head in size.

摘要: A light emitting device includes a base, a light-emitting module, and a shielding case. The light-emitting module is fixed to the base via a curved flexible printed-circuit. The shielding case fixed to the base in such a manner that the light-emitting module is held in a position to resist a restoring force of the flexible printed-circuit which is generated by the curve of the flexible printed-circuit. The light-emitting module includes a heat source, and the shielding case includes a projection. The projection controls movement of the light-emitting module in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the light-emitting module is held by the shielding case. The projection and the light-emitting module are bonded to each other with silicone.

摘要: A manipulation of the shutter release button mechanism causes the first signal to be detected by the control processor, which selects in turn the still picture mode effecting still picture recording on a data recording medium. A further manipulation of the release button mechanism causes the second signal to be detected by the control processor, which selects in turn the movie picture mode effecting movie picture recording on the data recording medium. In the still picture mode, pixel signals generated by the image sensor are transferred on the frame basis, while in the movie picture mode, pixel signals are transferred on the interlaced field transfer basis. The pixel signals are converted into corresponding digital image data to be stored in the frame memory, from which the control processor read the stored image data. In the still picture mode, a frame of image data is sequentially read out from the memory and compressed as a still image to be recorded on the oprical disk. In the movie picture mode, part of a frame of image data is read out from the memory with any movement of the camera compensated for on the basis of signals obtained from the movement sensor and compressed as movie images to be recorded on the same optical disk.
