摘要: A swing cam to actuate engine valves is rotatably disposed about a drive shaft. A first eccentric cam is tightly disposed on the drive shaft. A ring-link is rotatably disposed on the first eccentric cam. A second eccentric cam is tightly disposed on a control shaft which rotates to a given angular position in accordance with an operation condition of an associated internal combustion engine. A rocker arm is rotatably disposed on the second eccentric cam. A rod-link extends between the rocker arm and the swing cam. A first connecting pin pivotally connects a first arm portion of the rocker arm with the ring-link. A second connecting pin pivotally connects a second arm portion of the rocker arm with an end of the rod-link. A third connecting pin pivotally connects the other end of the rod-link with the swing cam. The first connecting pin is fixed to either one of the first arm portion of the rocker arm and the ring-link.

摘要: An internal combustion engine includes a piston reciprocating in a cylinder; a crankshaft; and a multilink piston-crank mechanism linking the piston with the crankshaft. The multilink piston-crank mechanism includes an upper link having a first end connected with the piston by a piston pin; a lower link mounted rotatably on a crankpin of the crankshaft and having a first end connected with a second end of the upper link by a first connection pin; a control link having a first end connected with a second end of the lower link by a second connection pin; a control shaft connected movably with a second end of the control link and configured to rotate in synchronization with the crankshaft and at a half rotational speed of the crankshaft; and a phase adjusting section configured to variably adjust a phase of rotation of the control shaft relative to the crankshaft in accordance with an operating condition of the engine. The multilink piston-crank mechanism is configured to variably control a piston stroke characteristic of the engine.

摘要: In a reciprocating piston engine employing a variable compression ratio mechanism linked to a reciprocating piston for variably adjusting a geometrical compression ratio by varying at least a piston top dead center position, so that the top dead center position obtained at a low geometrical compression ratio is set to be lower than that at a high geometrical compression ratio, responsively to a controlled variable, a controller is configured to set a target compression ratio to a high value at low engine load operation, and to a relatively low value at high engine load operation. A substantially entire area of a crown of the piston, defining a part of a wall surface of a combustion chamber, is formed of a non-metallic material having a higher heat-insulating and heat-reserving property as compared to a base structural material of each of the combustion chamber and the piston.

摘要: In a reciprocating piston engine employing a variable compression ratio mechanism configured to be linked to a reciprocating piston for variably adjusting a geometrical compression ratio by varying at least a top dead center position of the piston responsively to a controlled variable, a controller is configured to control the variable compression ratio mechanism depending on an engine operating condition. A part of a wall surface of a combustion chamber is formed of a non-metallic material having a higher heat-insulating and heat-reserving property as compared to a base structural material of each of the combustion chamber and the piston.

摘要: A variable valve actuation (VVA) apparatus comprises an eccentric rotary (ER) cam fixed to a driving shaft for rotation therewith, a pivotal valve operating (VO) cam, a rocker arm having a first arm and a second arm, a control rod having an eccentric control cam, and a crank arm. The eccentric control cam supports the rocker arm for pivotal motion. The crank arm interconnects the ER cam and the first arm of the rocker arm. A link interconnects the second arm of the rocker arm and the VO cam.

摘要: A variable compression ratio mechanism that changes the compression ratio according to the rotation angle of a control shaft, wherein a stopper is provided at the highest compression ratio side for regulating the rotation of said control shaft. Then, the output detected by a compression ratio sensor for detecting the rotation angle of said control shaft when said stopper is in an abutted state is read and an adjustment value is learned in order to revise the sensor output based on said detected output.

摘要: A piston crank mechanism has an upper link coupled to a piston by a piston pin, a lower link having a crankpin journal, wherein the crankpin journal is coupled to a crankpin of a crankshaft and is coupled to the upper link by an upper pin, and a control link is coupled to an eccentric cam of a control shaft that is supported by an engine block and coupled to a control pin boss by a control pin. The crankpin journal of the lower link is arranged and dimensioned relative to the upper pin such that a projection area defined by projecting the width of the upper pin along a direction line passing through a center of the piston pin and a center of the upper pin does not obscure an area defined by the crankpin during operation of the crankshaft as viewed in an axial direction of the crankpin.
