摘要: A work piece 1 mounted on a movable table 22 is rotated while adjusting cutting depths of a grinding wheel 23 by means of feed motor so as to perform cylindrical grinding. During the cylindrical grinding, a thermocouple 42 is pushed to and caused to contact the rotating cylindrical grinding surface 1a of the work piece 1 at a constant pressure and thermoelectromotive force generated by the thermocouple 42 is measured. Surface roughness data corresponding to the measured thermoelectromotive force are obtained on the basis of the thermoelectromotive data obtained by the measurement and correlation between thermoelectromotive force and surface roughness concerning a known standard surface previously obtained and memorized. The surface roughness data are output and displayed on a display section. Therefore, an in-process measurement of surface state of the work piece 1 can be performed, while the machining such as cylindrical grinding is being carried out.

摘要: The object of this invention is to provide an image reading apparatus capable of greatly reducing generation of a black streak image caused by dust, dirt, or the like at a flow scanning position on a document glass table in flow scanning of reading a document image while moving the document sheet at a predetermined speed. To achieve this object, the CPU of the image reading apparatus performs dust detection processing of detecting dust on the document glass table by a dust detection circuit during a document nonreading period. The CPU executes dust correction processing based on the dust detection result during continuous document reading. During an interval between the end of a series of image reading JOBs and the next image reading JOB, the CPU performs dust avoidance processing of changing the flow scanning position to a position free from any dust on the document glass table. If dust is difficult to avoid, the CPU inhibits flow scanning and executes control of switching flow scanning to optical scanning document reading.

摘要: An image signal recording and reproducing system of this invention includes an apparatus for reproducing an image signal from a recording medium on which the image signal is recorded in a recording format selected between a first recording format for recording a reference signal for time base correction together with the image signal and a second recording format for recording the image signal without the reference signal for time base correction. The apparatus is arranged to detect whether or not the reference signal for time base correction is present in a signal reproduced from the recording medium and then to process and reproduce the signal reproduced from the recording medium on the basis of a reproduction format selected between a first reproduction format corresponding to the first recording format and a second reproduction format corresponding to the second recording format in accordance with the detection result. Accordingly, it is possible to reproduce the image signal in a correct format corresponding to the recording format of the image signal.

摘要: An image signal recording apparatus for recording, on a recording medium, image signals corresponding to an image in which one picture is composed of a plurality of horizontal scanning lines is arranged to store the image signals for one picture, to simultaneously output N kinds (N: an integer at least 2) of image signals corresponding to N number of horizontal scanning lines adjacently located on the picture, and to simultaneously record, in different areas on the recording medium, the N kinds of image signals. This arrangement enables the apparatus to record an image signal of a high picture quality on the recording medium with a high degree of density.

摘要: An image signal recording apparatus of this invention for recording an image signal on a recording medium, is arranged to divide an image signal corresponding to one picture into k field image signals (k=an integer not less than 3), then multiplex a first index signal indicating that frame reproduction is possible during reproduction with 2n field image signals (n=an integer not less than 1) from among the k field image signals thus formed, while multiplexing a second index signal indicating that no frame reproduction is possible during reproduction with m field image signals (m=a positive integer) from among the k field image signals; and then record the k field image signals, each of which is multiplexed with the first or second index signal, on k tracks of the recording medium, respectively. With this arrangement, it is possible to record on the recording medium an image signal with high image quality compared to conventional arrangements while retaining compatibility with them.
