Since the built-in nozzle-cleaning mechanism is replaced automatically when the cartridge is replaced, and since the replacement of the cartridge generally takes place before the nozzle-cleaning mechanism deteriorates mainly due to contamination with ink, the nozzles are always kept clean and a reliable printing operation with high quality printing is insured throughout the service life of the cartridge.

    摘要: A method for manufacturing an ink jet head which involves the steps of casting a first synthetic film on a metal film, etching the conductive metal to produce a pair of etched electrodes facing each other across an opening according to lithography and etching techniques, casting a second synthetic resin film being transparent on the etched electrodes and the first synthetic resin film, ablating both the first and second synthetic resin films with an excimer laser without damaging the electrodes to form both an expelling nozzle which penetrates the second synthetic resin film and an ink passageway which penetrates the first synthetic resin film through the opening, attaching an ink holding cap to the first synthetic resin film to hold conductive ink in a hollow portion thereof, and electrically connecting the etched electrodes with a voltage generator through electrical leads for applying a voltage generated in the voltage generator to the etched electrodes, wherein the etched electrodes project into the expelling nozzle. The conductive ink held in the ink holding cap is expelled from the nozzle through the ink passageway upon vaporization.

    摘要: An inkjet recording apparatus includes a moving device which moves an inkjet head relative to a recording medium. When the head is moved relative to the recording medium by the moving device, a nozzle of the head ejects ink onto the recording medium, so that recording is carried out. The inkjet head includes (a) pressure chambers containing ink, (b) nozzles communicating through the pressure chambers, (c) piezoelectric elements, (d) piezoelectric actuators that deform to increase or decrease the capacities of the pressure chambers due to piezoelectric effect of the piezoelectric elements, and (e) a controller for driving the actuators at a frequency not less than 20 kHz. This structure allows the actuators to operate substantially noiseless, and an image can be recorded at higher speed.

    摘要: A dot matrix printer of a dispersion printing type in which a printing noise is suppressed and dots arranged in longitudinal rows are driven while shifting the timing for every print wire dot. The present dot matrix printer is characterized by a construction in which respective print wires are driven at different timings within one pitch, and a space around a print head is surrounded by a housing and a platen, and a sound generated in the space is transmitted outside through walls. Further, the present dot matrix printer is characterized in that there is provided a memory storing printing intervals among the whole dots and print head conduction time, and the print head is driven in accordance with information read out of said memory in order to correct deviation of dot rows arranged in a longitudinal direction of the print head from perpendicularity. According to the present dot matrix printer, since the print head is driven at a high frequency by an inexpensive control unit, the noise frequency at printing with the print head becomes high, and the generated noise is transmitted outside through walls. Therefore, attenuation in a high-pitched tone compass is large through walls, thus exhibiting an effect that the operation sound of the printer leaking outside is made smaller.
