摘要: An apparatus based on an n-variable unlimited recurrent adjustable network (URAN.sub.n) comprises: two layers, each layer having the same number (n) of neuron elements; linear neuron elements x.sub.i constituting a first layer; nonlinear artificial neuron elements y.sub.j having respective temperature-dependent parameters Tj and constituting a second layer. Each linear and nonlinear neuron element of the first and second layers is connected using a feedforward connection part, a recurrent connection part, and an auto connection part. A nonlinear oscillation apparatus having the recurrent neural network is generally operated in accordance with the equation (1) described below: ##EQU1##

摘要: In an apparatus and method for navigating a mobile body such as a vehicle or user, an accurate and easily grasping road map graphic data in a bird's eye display mode are achieved with a running route on which the mobile body has traveled maintained and having a continuity to the past running information and operability of the navigating apparatus is improved. In the navigating apparatus and method, the present position information and display parameter information are previously set, a line of sight is determined on the basis of the forwarding direction information, a view point position is determined on the basis of the forwarding direction is determined. A road map data expressed with a two-dimensional X-Y plane as a reference is stored. The road map data stored receive their coordinate transformations on the basis of the determined view point position and direction of line of sight to generate the bird's eye view. Such generated bird's eye view image data are output to a display unit so that the bird's eye view can be viewed from a display image screen. Furthermore, character data such as names of places are selectively superimposed on respective minor regions of the image screen without superimpositions on other character data belonging to adjacent minor regions.

摘要: An image processing section receives data from cameras mounted on the vehicle and produces an image or images from which a first set of so called "local" data is derived and compiled. A sensor section senses the rotational characteristics of two vehicle wheels and the conditions prevailing on either side of the vehicle and complies a second set of so called "global" data. The local and global data are compared and data is only accepted in the event that the differences between the two sets of data fall within predetermined limits and data which falls outside of the ranges deemed erroneous and rejected.

摘要: An apparatus provides information for a driver and passengers in a vehicle. If it is estimated that driving load is high, the apparatus stops outputting information. If it is estimated that driving load has been changed from high to low, the apparatus reads information from a storage unit and outputs the read information. If it is estimated that driving load is high, the apparatus stops outputting information so that the driver and passengers may miss no information, and if it is estimated that driving load is low, the apparatus provides information for the driver and passengers so that they may surely catch the information.

摘要: In a navigation system using a bird's-eye view display mode, map data on a plan view map are subjected to a perspective projection conversion to obtain drawing data on a bird's-eye view map. In this case, an input of the position of a view point is accepted, and a projection plane for a bird's-eye view is determined on the basis of the coordinates of a current position and a destination and the position of the view point so that the display positions of the two points which have been subjected to perspective-projection conversion are coincident with predetermined positions. Alternatively, an input of a scale is accepted, and the position of the view point and the projection plane are determined on the basis of the coordinates of the two points and the scale so that the display positions of the two points after the perspective projection conversion are coincident with predetermined positions and the drawing scale is coincident with the input scale. Or, as a further alternative, an input of the projection angle is accepted, and the projection plane is determined on the basis of the projection angle and the position of the view point.

摘要: A receiver is applied to optical communication using an optical pulse signal carrying data which is cyclically updated. The optical signal is converted to a corresponding electrical pulse signal. The data is extracted from the electrical signal. The extracted data from successive cycles are compared. In response to the result of comparison between the data, a determination is made as to the number of cycles in which the extracted data is at a given value. When the determined number of cycles reaches a variable preset number, a previously used data value is replaced by the given value. The amplitudes of the electrical signal pulses are compared with a reference level. The preset number is varied in accordance with the result of comparison between the pulse amplitudes and the reference level.

摘要: A speech recognition system for an automotive vehicle which can record or recognize spoken instruction phrases reliably even when engine noise increases high within the passenger compartment. When the engine begins to operate, the gain of an amplifier of a speech input section or the threshold level of a voice detector is so switched as to reduce the sensitivity to spoken instructions. As a result, the driver must necessarily utter a spoken instruction in a louder voice and thus the proportion of noise level to spoken instruction signal level is reduced. The system according to the present invention comprises engine operation detecting means, an analog switch, two amplifiers or two multipliers, etc. in addition to the conventional speech recognizer.

摘要: A speech recognition and actuator system for auto device control includes a recognition switch which when operated a first time activates the system to accept a spoken command, and if operated a second time within a predetermined interval T1 (approximately 2 seconds) stops the actuation and awaits a new command. Additional timers provide interval T2 for a stop command, and T3 for enabling the speech recognizer. The system may also include a reset switch when operated returns the actuated device to its original state.
