摘要: A transmission for an electric vehicle that allows forward movement in a first shift stage with hydraulic pressure failure and permits forward and rearward towing. 摘要: An oil pump driving device drives an oil pump combined with a transmission coupled to an engine for supplying working oil to lubricate the transmission and enable the transmission to make gear shifts. The transmission includes a first power transmitting mechanism for connecting the output shaft of an electric motor to the drive shaft of the oil pump, and a second power transmitting path for connecting the output shaft of the engine to the drive shaft of the oil pump. A controller for selecting one of the first and second power transmitting mechanisms at a time selects the first power transmitting mechanism to drive the oil pump with the electric motor when the rotational speed of the output shaft of the engine is lower than a predetermined speed, and selects the second power transmitting mechanism to drive the oil pump with the engine when the rotational speed of the output shaft of the engine exceeds the predetermined speed.

摘要: An engine is connected to a sun gear of a planetary gear train via a toroidal type continuously variable transmission; driven wheels are connected to a ring gear of the planetary gear train; and the sun gear and the ring gear are connected to each other by a first clutch. A shifter can connect a second clutch, which is connected to the engine, to a carrier of the planetary gear train or to the driven wheels. When the vehicle is started forward when a failure has occurred, by controlling the engagement force of the first clutch on the basis of the rotational rate of the engine and the ratio of the toroidal type continuously variable transmission and controlling the engagement force of the second clutch on the basis of the rotational rate of the engine while the second clutch is connected to the carrier by the shifter, it is possible to prevent the ratio of the toroidal type continuously variable transmission from changing beyond the LOW ratio or the OD ratio and generating an excessive load.

摘要: An engine is connected to a sun gear of a planetary gear train via a toroidal type continuously variable transmission. Driven wheels of a vehicle are connected to a ring gear of the planetary gear train. The sun gear and the ring gear are connected to each other by a first clutch. A shifter can connect a second clutch connected to the engine either to a carrier of the planetary gear train or the driven wheels. When the vehicle is started when a failure of the electronic central system has occurred, by engaging the first and second clutches with predetermined engagement forces while the second clutch is connected to the carrier by the shifter, change of the ratio of the toroidal type continuously variable transmission beyond either the LOW ratio or the OD ratio is prevented so as to avoid generating an excessive load.

摘要: A start control system for an internal combustion engine which is capable of automatically restarting the engine while ensuring excellent startability and fuel economy of the engine, and permits reduction of the size of the system, to reduce the weight and manufacturing costs of the system. An electric motor drives an oil pump. An accumulator accumulates oil pressure delivered from the oil lamp. A hydraulic motor is connected to the accumulator via oil passage and driven by the oil pressure accumulated in the accumulator, for starting the engine. An electromagnetic valve is arranged across the oil passage, for controlling supply of oil pressure to the hydraulic motor. An ECU controls operation of the oil pressure supply control valve to thereby cause the hydraulic motor to start the engine.

摘要: A two-cycle internal combustion engine having an oblong cylinder and an oblong piston therein. The engine includes two sets of scavenging ports at either end of the oblong cylinder having at least three ports each. Scavenging passages extending to the scavenging ports may be directed at sequentially increasing angles of inclination to the local normal with the cylinder away from the exhaust porting. In this way, flow may be directed across the piston head away from the exhaust porting and then upwardly to return toward the exhaust porting. A domed piston is also disclosed having discrete guide surfaces on the domed surface of the piston to specifically direct incoming air/fuel mixture upwardly from each of the scavenging ports. An element of the cylinder midway in the long dimension of the cylinder extends in the direction of piston movement without porting so as to provide a smooth wall surface. An oblong piston ring mounted within a groove in the piston has a break in the ring coincide with the unported cylinder element to reduce stress and friction.
