    摘要: A picture information conversion method and apparatus in which, if the compressed picture information with a variable or non-recognized information volume is input, optimum compression processing on the compressed picture information is performed to prevent underflow and/or overflow to suppress deterioration of the picture quality. A compressed information analysis device 3 analyzes the structure of the picture type of the GOP of the compressed picture information input to the FF buffer 2. A bit allocation device 5 generates a pseudo GOP of the input compressed picture information, based on N frames stored in the FF buffer 2 and on the analysis result information stored in the information buffer 4, and allocates a pre-set code volume to respective pictures of the generated GOP so that the output compressed picture information will be at a second bitrate.

    摘要: An MPEG downdecoder is to be provided which eliminates dephasing of pixels of moving picture data without losing properties inherent in a picture obtained on interlaced scanning. In the case of a field DCT mode, 4×4 decimating IDCT is executed for phase correction for a ¼ pixel for pixels in the vertical direction of a top field and for phase correction for ¾ pixel for pixels in the vertical direction of a bottom field. In the case of a frame DCT mode, the totality of coefficients of a DCT block are IDCTed and separated into two pixel blocks associated with interlaced scanning. The low-frequency components of these two pixel blocks are IDCTed to synthesize the two pixel blocks. The pixels in the vertical direction of the top field are phase-corrected by a ¼ pixel, while those in the vertical direction of the bottom field are phase-corrected by a ¾ pixel.

A picture information transform apparatus for receiving as input the compressed picture information obtained by coding the picture information of a plurality of picture type images by ways of orthogonal transform and motion compensation includes a variable length decoder 4 for performing a variable length decoding operation on the input compressed picture information, an inverse quantizer 5 for inversely quantizing the decoded information, a band limiter 7 for limiting the bandwidth, a quantizer 8 and a bit rate controller 9 for computationally determining the target bits for the coded images of each picture type by adaptively using a plurality of parameters operating as coefficients for the contents of the coded images of the picture type on the bais of the contents of the coded images of the picture type.

    摘要: In a pixel decoding method and apparatus, pixel dephasing caused for the field DCT mode and the frame DCT mode is to be eliminated to curtail the processing volume without detracting from the properties inherent in a picture produced on interlaced scanning. To this end, if the DCT mode is the field mode, a decimating DCT device for field mode 14 performs 4×4 decimating IDCT. If the DCT mode is the frame mode, the decimating DCT device for frame mode 15 performs IDCT on the totality of coefficients of the DCT block, separates the coefficients into two pixel blocks associated with the interlaced scanning and performs DCT separately for the separated two pixel blocks. The low frequency components of these two pixel blocks are IDCT and the two pixel are synthesized.

The separated two pixel blocks are DCTed. The coefficients of the low-frequency components are IDCTed and the two pixel blocks are synthesized together. A progressive picture accommodating picture decoding unit 2 is fed with a progressive picture. The coefficients of the low-frequency components of the DCT block are inverse orthogonal transformed.

In the case of the field motion prediction mode, a motion compensation device 18 interpolates respective pixels of a macro-block of reference picture data stored in a frame memory 17 to generate a macro-block constituted by pixels of ¼ pixel precision.     摘要: An MPEG downdecoder which eliminates picture quality deterioration ascribable to motion compensation. A decimating inverse discrete cosine transform unit 14 performs 4×4 decimating IDCT if the DCT mode is the field mode. If the DCT mode is the frame mode, a decimating IDCT unit for frame mode 15 applies IDCT to the totality of the coefficients of the DCT block and separates the DCT block into two pixel blocks in order to cope with the interlaced scanning. Each of the separated pixel blocks is processed with DCT. To reference picture data, pixels are interpolated using orthogonal transform by motion compensation units 18, 19 to generate virtual upper-order picture data of high resolution, which is processed with motion compensation. The motion-compensated virtual upper-order picture data is orthogonal transformed to decimate pixels to generate reference picture data used for addition.
