    Abstract: A vehicle speed control system for a vehicle comprises a lateral acceleration sensor, a vehicle speed sensor, a target vehicle speed setting device, a drive system of the vehicle, and a controller connected. The controller is arranged to calculate a correction quantity on the basis of the lateral acceleration and the vehicle speed, to calculate a command vehicle speed on the basis of the vehicle speed, the target vehicle speed, a variation of the command vehicle speed and the correction quantity, and to control the drive system to bring the vehicle speed closer to the command vehicles speed.

    Abstract: In current servo amplification/control apparatus and method for a reversible DC motor applicable to a vehicular four-wheel steering system, a motor current detection circuit and a motor current feedback circuit are eliminated and a motor counter-electromotive force is estimated using a dynamic characteristic of the motor, a positioning currenu, and an angular displacement information of the motor, and the motor power supply voltage directly measured is corrected using the estimated counter- electromotive force. Thus, a positioning response of the motor is derived which is approximately coincident with a design target even when the motor is rotated at a high speed.

    Abstract: A vehicle speed control system is adapted to a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission with a torque converter. The vehicle speed control system detects whether the automatic transmission is put in a lock-up condition, and corrects a command drive torque according to the lock-up condition of the automatic transmission. Particularly, the vehicle speed control system decreases a correction quantity of the command drive torque when the automatic transmission is put in the un-lockup condition. Therefore, the vehicle speed control system can adapt its response characteristic to a controlled system response characteristic which varies according to the lock-up condition of the transmission.

    Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a motion of a vehicle supported on steered and non-steered road wheels. A target vehicle motion value is calculated based on the steering angle and vehicle speed to provide a predetermined response characteristic related to a vehicle plane behavior. A target steering angle value for the non-steered road wheel to realize the vehicle plane behavior is calculated according to the target vehicle motion value. The non-steered road wheels are steered according to the calculated target steering angle value. The damping characteristic of the response characteristic is decreased as the vehicle speed increases.

    Abstract: A vehicle speed control system is installed to a vehicle equipped with an engine and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The vehicle control system is comprised of a controller arranged to execute a vehicle speed control, to suspend the vehicle speed control when a throttle opening is increased to be greater than a target throttle opening for the vehicle speed control and to restart the suspended vehicle speed control when the throttle opening becomes smaller than the target throttle opening. Further, the controller is arranged to decrease the throttle opening and to execute a shift down of the CVT when the vehicle speed at the moment of restarting the vehicle speed control is greater than or equal to the target vehicle speed. Therefore, this vehicle speed control system can quickly and smoothly decelerate the vehicle without generating shift shocks when the vehicle speed control is restarted.

    Abstract: In a control apparatus for controlling a gear shift ratio of a continuously variable transmission mounted in an automotive vehicle as an automatic power transmission, a gear shift ratio command value is calculated using a control constant corresponding to a dynamic characteristic determined for each instantaneous gear shift ratio of the continuously variable transmission so as to achieve a target gear shift ratio response characteristic.
