摘要: A reflection type liquid crystal display comprises first and second substrates disposed facing each other and holding a liquid crystal exhibiting a negative dielectric constant anisotropy between them, the first substrate (10) has on the side of its surface facing the second substrate a TFT as a switching element, a reflective display electrode (50) formed of a conductive reflective material and connected to the TFT and a vertical alignment film for vertically aligning the liquid crystal molecules. The second substrate (30) has on the side facing the first substrate a counter electrode (33) including an alignment control window (36) for controlling the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules and an alignment film. The second substrate (30) has on the viewing side of the display, the side of its surface not facing the first substrate, a phase plate (44) and a polarizer (45) forms. A light diffusing layer is formed on the side of the second substrate facing or not facing the first substrate. With this configuration, the display device when viewed from the viewing side is free of the occurrence of parallax and provides a wide viewing angle.

摘要: A reflection type liquid crystal display comprises a substrate (10) provided with a TFT and a reflective display electrode (50) connected to the TFT, a counter electrode substrate (30) having a color filter (31), and a counter electrode (34), and provided with a light diffusing layer (43), a phase plate (44) and a polarizer (45) on the side of an observer 101, and a liquid crystal (21) held between the substrates. The surface of the reflective display electrode (50) facing the liquid crystal (21) is concaved toward the substrate (10), so that a reflected light is prevented from leaking to adjacent pixels, and prevented from being radiated to a black matrix in the vicinity of the pixels. A bright display can be obtained a wide viewing angle.

摘要: A display unit for displaying first and second images includes a display device, a parallax barrier arranged facing the display device, and a lenticular lens arranged facing the parallax barrier. The parallax barrier includes a plurality of slit regions. A slit control section alternately switches each slit region between a transmitting state and a shielding state at a predetermined cycle. An image signal output section provides, in synchronization with the switching of the slit region, image data to the display device so that the plurality of pixels of the display device display an image different from the image displayed before switching of the slit region.

摘要: A light emitting device includes: a plurality of luminescent cells each having substantially same thickness and including a first and a second conductive layers having conductive characteristic and a light emitting layer being sandwiched by the first and the second conductive layers and including a luminescent material that emits light when a voltage is applied; a first electrode substrate being contacted with the first conductive layer of each of the luminescent cells to be electrically connected there with; a second electrode substrate being contacted with the second conductive layer of each of the luminescent cells to be electrically connected therewith; and a sealing member that seals the luminescent cells within a space formed between the first and the second electrode substrates. The first electrode substrate and the first conductive layer are transparent with respect to the light emitted from the light emitting layer.

摘要: A trough type solar thermal collector which uses a curved mirror to make a heat tube which is arranged in the front of the curved mirror collect sunlight and to heat a fluid which flows through the inside of the heat tube, the trough type solar thermal collector configured to be able to avoid damage to the curved mirror due to vortex-induced vibration, is provided. The trough type solar thermal collection apparatus of the present invention is provided with, at an outer edge of the curved mirror in the direction of change of curvature of the curved shape of the curved mirror, vortex control means for controlling the flow of vortices which forms at the outer edge, whereby it is possible to avoid damage to the curved mirror such as occurs due to vortex-induced vibration at the time when higher windspeed resistance specifications are sought from the apparatus.

A display device has a thin film transistor on an insulating substrate 10. The thin film transistor includes first gate electrodes 11, a gate insulating film 12, a semiconductor film 13 which is formed on the first gate electrode 11, and a interlayer insulating film 15. The thin film transistor further includes second gate electrodes 70 which are on the interlayer insulating film 15 and at least above channels 13c, and which are connected to the first gate electrodes 11. A reflective display electrode 19 connected to the source of the thin film transistor is elongated to extend above the thin film transistor.

摘要: A liquid crystal display apparatus has a liquid crystal panel and a lighting apparatus arranged at the backside of the liquid crystal panel. The lighting apparatus has an organic electroluminescent device as a light source. The organic electroluminescent device includes a pair of electrodes and an organic layer arranged between the electrodes for emitting light when an electric field is applied to the organic layer. An emission spectrum of the organic electroluminescent device has peak in each of red, green, blue, and cyan wavelength zones. Therefore, the colors of printed objects on the liquid crystal display are accurately reproduced.

摘要: A mother glass board used to fabricate multiple liquid crystal display panels includes a substrate on which the liquid crystal panel portions are formed. An orientation film is formed on the liquid crystal panel portions. A pattern of metallic film is formed on the substrate outside that portion of the substrate on which the liquid crystal panel portions are located. The patterns include an alignment mark and an identifier mark used in the liquid crystal panel production process. An enclosure surrounding the liquid crystal panel portions is formed on the substrate between the pattern and the liquid crystal panel portions. The enclosure prevents stripes from being formed on the orientation film during a rubbing step in the production process in which the liquid crystal panel portions are rubbed with a cloth.

摘要: On an insulating substrate, there are formed a first gate electrode, a gate insulating film, a semiconductor film, and an interlayer insulating film. Above the interlayer insulating film, a TFT is formed having a second gate electrode connected to the first gate electrode. Then, a photosensitive resin is formed over the entire surface of the extant layers. Subsequently, first exposure is applied using a first mask, and second exposure is then applied using a second mask with a larger amount of light than used for the first exposure. The second mask has an opening at a position corresponding to a source. Thereafter, the photosensitive resin film is developed thereby forming a contact hole and a concave.
