摘要: A sleep prevention system captures a facial image of a driver, determines a sleepiness level from the facial image and operates warning devices including neck air conditioner, seatbelt vibrator, and brake controller if necessary based on the sleepiness determination. A sleepiness determination device determines sleepiness from facial expression information such as distances between corners of a mouth, distance between an eyebrow and eye, tilt angle of a head, and other facial feature distances. The facial distances are calculated from captured images and from reference information gather during wakefulness. The sleepiness degree is determined based on the determination results including combinations thereof.

摘要: A visual ability improvement device installed in a vehicle includes a noise generator, a surrounding situation detector, a driver status detector, a vehicle status detector, an operation switch, and a noise output device. A controller of the noise generator determines an optimum strength based on the surrounding situation from the surrounding situation detector, the driver's status from the driver status detector, the vehicle's status from the vehicle status detector, and the correspondence of the optimum representative noise to the above situation and statuses from the correspondence memory. 摘要: A breath monitor includes: a plurality of sensors for detecting a load derived from a human lying on a bed and for outputting a sensor signal corresponding to the load; and breath signal computation means. The sensors are disposed under the human with a predetermined arrangement. The breath signal computation means converts each sensor signal to a frequency domain so that a spectrum of each sensor signal is obtained, selects the sensors on the basis of the converted sensor signals, and computes a breath signal on the basis of the sensor signals outputted from the selected sensors.

摘要: A stator for use in an axial-gap dynamo-electric machine. The stator core may be fabricated from a plurality of stator core elements each of which may be arranged to form teeth portions on a rotor side of the stator core elements and which also form back portions on a base side of the stator core elements. The stator core elements may contact one another such that magnetic, and other losses, are reduced and overall machine efficiency is improved over conventional designs.

摘要: A steel tire cord is composed of three to five strands twisted closely with minimum gaps between the strands. The steel tire cord is easy to handle in embedding the same in rubber to form a tire, free from corrosion and highly durable. A tire incorporates the steel tire cords which are bonded firmly to rubber in a belt layer. Tires thus fabricated are uniform in quality and highly durable. The steel tire cord is composed of three to five twisted strands arranged in a construction reducing the sectional area of spaces in the steel tire cord to a minimum. The core strands twist in helices around imaginary cylinders having axes aligned with the axis of the steel tire cord. The outside strands twist in helices around imaginary cylinders having axes aligned with the axis of the steel tire cord and having diameters greater than those of the imaginary cylinders around which the core strands twist. At least one of the strands among the component strands of the steel tire cord is crimped to form bends therein. The core strands and the outside strands are arranged closely in a triangular sectional construction with gaps between the crimped strand and the adjacent strands. In the tire incorporating the steel tire cords, the outer enveloping surface of the steel tire cord, and inner enveloping surfaces defining the spaces having a triangular cross section are covered closely with rubber, so that the steel tire cords and the rubber are bonded firmly.
